How sure are you that you put the wires back in the right order?: A dealer and see what the firing order is, and verify that you have the right club going to the right wire.

'96 Honda Accord 4-cylinder with 233,000 miles, compression with approx. 175psi for all cylinders, 34 psi fuel pressure at idle, new distributor with cap and rotor plus new #2 injector. Problem is the car...

Well, since the spark to #2 comes from the distributor, and the others are firing, could be a bad plug wire or sparkplug. Also make sure there isnt anything down around the sparkplug that could be shorting out. I would go ahead with new plug wires for starters, as that usually gets replaced when you do the distributor and rotor. Inspect plugs too- they may need replacing.

How to change spark plugs

Those are as easy as they come these days. Mark each spark plug wire with a piece of tape with the cylinder # written on it, so as not to mix up the wires. Remove each spark plug wire by firmly grasping the wire by the boot (do not pull on the wire) and twist it back and forth a few times while pulling slowly. It should pop off without a great deal of effort. If it is seized and it breaks, you will have to replace the wire, or at the very least replace the terminals (if you can get some). Use an air hose and blow around the base of each spark plug to dislodge any loose dirt that could fall into the cylinders (not absolutely necessary, but a good idea). Remove each spark plug with a spark plug socket and extension and ratchet (I forget which size socket, it's either 5/8 or 13/16). Check the gaps of each new spark plug (typically around 0.035 in). re-install each new spark plug by hand (do not cross-thread them) and once you have ensured that the plug is threaded in properly, tighten the plug until it seats, and then tighten an additional 1/16 of a turn. Repeat this for the remaining plugs. Re-install wires to the corresponding spark plugs. You're done!

Where is Idle control valve located and how do you know if it's bad? My 1994 Toyota pick is idleing ruff and skips a little while running down the road. I've changed the plugs and wires also had the head...

Idle air control valve only controls air into the engine while idling. If your vehicle is running rough and skips, its misfiring. Make sure that the new plugs are properly gapped and timing is set right on the distributor side, intake hose isnt leaking. Re-inspect the sparkplugs for fouling (black, burnt, brown etc). if ok, have the computer scanned for the error at autozone (free). Post the code online...hopefully this helpd

How do I check an ignition coil on a 1993 Corolla 1.8L

Take the wire off the spark plug then remove the spark plug, put the wire back on the plug and lay it down on something metal .Have someone start the car and look at the sparkplug gap to see if it is sparking. Use a new sparkplug to be sure its a good plug and do this when its kind of dark out side so its easy to see the spark. If it does not have a spark, the coil is worn.
I hope this helps you.

Spark plugs

on top center of the engine. You would have to remove the intake hose. There is 6 COPs or Coil over plugs mounted on top of the sparkplugs. Remove those and the sparkplugs are accessable. Hopefully this helps

Skipping

When was the last time you had the timing belt checked and or replaced? That should happen at least every 60k to 70k miles. It sounds like your timing belt has stretched or jumped timing.
