Not sure as to what you are needing by the way you worded your question. Are you looking for the timing indicator so you are able to time it on the crankshaft mark ? Some models in that year the marks are above or monted on the oil pan (see pictures below) I hope this is what you were needing. The differential will work ONLY if, obviously, it will fit, AND you NEED to make sure the gear ratio is the same. I'm not familiar with these types, but it will work fine assuming the gear ratio is the same.
If not, the differential you have replaced will try turning the wheels faster then the other one and this creates nothing but a big mess.
If you want to find the ratio then you can remove the rear differential cover and spin the wheels by hand to turn the gears and find the number on the carrier gear. The numbers will be what you need to tell what the ratio is.
The weight of the trailer is the most important factor. A good
weight-to-horsepower ratio is about 35:1, 35 lbs. of Gross Combined
Weight (GCW) for every horsepower your engine develops. Multiply the
engine's rated horsepower by 35 and subtract the weight of the vehicle
passengers and luggage. The number remaining is the approximate ideal
maximum weight you should tow, although a numerically higher axle ratio
can help compensate for heavier weight.
Hold one wheel. mark the other wheel. Turn the unlocked wheel two complete revolutions. Count the number of turns the yoke make in two revolutions of the unlocked wheel. 3 1/2 turns= 3.42 3 3/4 turns 3.73 and so on
