Question about 2000 GMC Sierra
1997 Chevy S-10 4cyl engine. My automatic transmission is acting up. My truck seems to only move when it just started. If I have just started it it will go for a few miles then it will feel as if there is no power then die out. However I can shut it down and immediately start it back up (like 3 seconds in between) and it will move again. It is also making a rattling noise underneath the truck not sure what it is yet. Can a loose fly wheel cause this? If I shut down in "N" then place it in park and start it back up I feel a slight **** as if something spins back in to place by the starter and then the truck can move again. If any one can help me out please do so as I am running low on a budget to change trans on this truck.
The first thing I would do is change the filter in the transmission. A plugged filter can cause this.
