Question about Chevrolet TrailBlazer

2 Answers

I have a 2005 chevy trailblazer. I have 2 cigarette lighters in the front and the extra plug in located in the console are not working. One of the plugs works in the front. The other plug in the front and the rear console do not work. I have looked in both fuse boxes and can not find anything else to fix the problem.

    I received this response...
The 2 that you are talking about should run off the courtsey circuit which should be marked (CSTY) on your fuse block. Now since all the fuses are ok there is either a ground wire or power wire that came loose at one of the 2 since I am almost sure that those 2 run in parallel and if 1 goes down they both will go down . So you will need to access them by removing center console pieces until you can see the plugs. Now if you don't see a loose or broken wire you will need a test meter or test light to se what is missing power or ground.and trace wires to there source.I am almost sure the lighters don't run thru the BCM(body control module) which could supply ground to them in some vehicles GM made.

    My 2nd response...

    - The wires are connected in the back of the plug but there is not power going to those two cigarette lighters.

Replace all the three fuse mentioned with number and their location.Be sure that you replace exact fuse with proper 20 amp.
At the fusebox under the rear seat check fuses 15 and 46.

& Fuse 13 @ the underhood fusebox.

Fuse 13: 20A Front Cigar Lighter
Fuse 15: 20A Aux Power 2 (Rear AUX power outlet in rear cargo side panel)
Fuse 46: 20A Aux Power 1 (Both Front AUX power outlets & rear of center console outlet).
------------
If after replacing the fuses still the same problem then there are 3 12 volt power outlets in the front.Check for the exact 12 volt.If the voltage is less that means the wire is getting short if the voltage is more that means the wire is getting touch to any other wire.
check out.Thanks.

Cigarette lighter not working, already changed fuse

Look in your manual for the Power Distribution Box reference in Roadside Emergencies. It should be located under the hood on the driver's side. My 2002 Explorer has two power points on the center console and the 20A fuses in the Power Distribution Box for them are number 7 and number 9. They cost $3.99 each at AutoZone. The cigar lighter fuse under the dash is unrelated.
