They don't have marks on the gears. You have to remove the valve cover and put a flat bar through the back ends of the cam shaft to lock them in place in the correct time.

I have a 2000 Mazda 626 4cyl 2.0 liter DOHC engine replacing the timing belt, what are the correct timing marks position on both cam shafts with #1 piston at TDC

I cant find a picture to show you, but if you rotate the engine until #1 is at TDC there should be a timing mark on the crankshaft gear that lines up with a pointer and the cams should have marks that line up also. Most of the time there is a molded line in the cam gear and it lines up with a molded slot in the plate behind the gear at the 12 O'clock position.

4jx1 camshaft marks on isuzu trooper 2001 3,0 dohc engine

the timming gear that the belt runs on has a mark (V cut in gear) to rear cover at about 12 o clock and crank pulley has timming mark for top dead centre, both cams have cut outs in rear that a special tool (camshaft stopper 5-8840-2592-0) locks into to hold cams in correct position, but can do without this, if the cam belt gear is off, the keyway should be at 12 o clock. the marks in the camshaft gears (dots) is for assembly of sissor gears to solid gears on camshafts that run together and they should match up only if you had this appart.

Looking for the timing marks on a 98 ford contour 2.0L dohc

If you're looking for the classic marks on the crankshaft pulley, there aren't any, because the ignition timing isn't adjustable: it's controlled by the ECM.

If you're trying to set the cam timing, there are no marks on the cam gears. Ford has a special tool that fits on the camshafts to line them up. Then you line up the mark on the crankshaft gear and that is how the cam timing is checked.

Need timing marks for a 1996 pontiac grand am se 2.4 DOHC

YOU WILL SEE A HOLE IN THE CAM GEAR THAT A 3/8 BOLT WILL FIT INTO. PUT A BOLT INTO THE HOLES OF BOTH CAM GEARS. THEN LINE UP THE CRANK PULLEY KEYWAY AT ABOUT 12 O'CLOCK WITH THE MARK ON THE ENGINE BLOCK.

MAKE SURE TO COMPRESS THE CHAIN TENSIONER AND RELEASE IT WHEN THE CHAIN IS IN POSITION.

I need the timing marks for a 2000 escort with sigle over head cam.

The timing marks are a arrow on your cam gear, and a dot on your cylinder head; align them.

Your crank gear has a tab, and the engine has a groove; align them.

After aligning the marks and putting your timing belt on, turn the engine 2 complete turns to insure the marks are still aligned; As long as the marks still align, you're done.

I hope this helps you, and if you need further assistance let me know.

Can get the correct timing

well time the cams. it should say up on each of the cam gear and when you have the two cam gears in the up position. there should be a dot facing each other on the cam. then on the crank shaft gear there is also a dot marking. Line that up to the arrow mark on the block located right close to the crank gear. And then have your distributor rotor placed on cylinder one. thats the one closes to the cam gears...
