Makes sense to do it that way as they are sold as a unit and the gears on the regulator are often stripped so a new motor will not fix that problem. These can be found new aftermarket on ebay for less than a hundred dollars. You can get the same part at advance or autozone for about $140.00. Get a glass shop to do the labor, do not take it to a dealer.

Does anyone have a picture diagram of the reardoor window tracks and hardware /2002 saturn L300

Your power window motor is shot , buy another one, it takes three or four bolts to remove it. The window slides on the track.

I have a 1999 Saturn SL2 the passenger window won't roll all the way up it will move down. I used to be able to fiddle with the center console switch and it would eventually go up. Not any more. Which...

Scrub out the window channel with plenty of washing up liquid. Some mechanisms will not lift a window against concerted resistance as a safety measure to fingers etc. being removed (ouch!) If the window still refuses to rise and you can hear the motor running it is likely that you have worn or stripped the initial teeth on the window regulator mechanism. If the window rises only after you have pulled it up a couple of inches this would also indicate the fault with the regulator mechanism, you may also have to remove the inner panel to confirm this. If so replace the regulator and ensure the first 12 teeth are liberally lubricated with grease.

63 year old lady go over to ebay and buy a new driver's door regulator, this is almost exactly 100 dollars with shipping. then call a local auto glass shop and make an appointment for them to install it, tell them you already have your own new regulator. I have had several of these put in 5 saturns over the years and never paid over 60 bucks labor. a glass shop will have the tools and fasteners on hand. stay the heck away from dealers on this.

How to replace window motor drivers side on 1999 Sayurn SL2

go to ebay motors and buy a new regulator, costs about a hundred bucks, do not put a used one in and buy the whole thing not just the motor.

call around for remove and install prices at local auto glass shops and use the second cheapest quote. these guys will be fast and have all the right tools and needed fasteners on hand. cost about $50.00

or go to a GM dealer and drop the better half of $500 for the same deal.

Good morning, I have a 1999 saturn sc2 and the driver side window will not roll down. How do I do first?

Very common for window regulators to fail, especially on an 11 year old car and especially the driver's window. These can be found used and new aftermarket on ebay. Much cheaper than a dealer and have a glass shop do the replacement for you, $50 bucks labor instead of a couple hundred at a dealer. Get the whole regulator, not just a new lift motor.

If it is manual crank, that is what you need. If it is electric, rule out a bad switch first.

You can pull the panel and move the window regulator manually to put the window back up. If you can get that far you may as well get the regulator from a boneyard an put it in. You will need a grinder to get the rivets out and some bolts to put it back in. If you don't change the regulator, make sure you unplug the motor inside the door because it may work in "down" mode but not up. You don't want to have to do it again. Or you could check Ebay for the regulator. Good luck.

It is possible the regulator or motor in the window is bad. This is somewhat common on the Saturn power windows as the plastic gears strip out. Most likely the switch is good but you can check by taking the switch out of the center console and checking for continuity.

To examine the regulator and motor you need to remove the outer door panel, which is relatively easy if you have torx bits.

2000 saturn power windows, driver window does not

you would first have to make sure it is switch.Motors and regulators go out often. Does the drivers door switch operate passenger side ok? Can you hear any noise when switch is is up or down position? You would want to make sure all of this first. Door panel controls are easy to replace but you really want to remove panel and make sure you have good motor and window regulator.
