Hi!!

I beleive you need a new A/C Compressor because the one you have is Locked Up and when the Compressor Clutch kiks in, it freezes up and tries to keep the belt from turning (that's why the jumping) until it shuts the engine off.

Good Luck!! Don't forget to rate this post.

2006 Cadillac CTS help My car was tested @auto zone for the batery n alternator n both passed Good voltage Everytime I go to crank my car it does not crank I have 2 jump it of even if it's for 15 mins

Luis: That makes no sense. But here is what others are saying: " How possible is it for a bad alternator to be tested good? I already had people telling me to replace it.

I got both the battery and alt tested. Both passed.

Reinstalled on the car and it ran good surprisingly after the battery was charged @ the autostore > till after about 10 minutes, then the battery meter dropped back down.

Soon as i turned on the lights/ac the battery meter dripped down real low. SOon as i turned them off the meter jumped back up.

Soon as i revved the engine the headlight would brighten then dim back down after the rev was over.

I can jump the car, but it will turn off by itself if you leave it idling to long then it needs another jump.
Driving it doesn't charge the battery up.. its actually drops the battery meter down more and more and more till its dead.

-Car doesn't drain the battery while its off.. so its nothing left on.

>> Now people are telling me there alternator was tested good, but the problems went away after buying a new alt.
"
Some people say there could be a loose belt not turning the alternator fast enough to supply power to lights/ac and charge battery. Or bad wires". or possibly a bad voltage regulator.

My 2000 Buick Lesabre will not start when i turn the key it does nothing.

I have to ask - since you didn't include any other info - do any lights work? If not - you may have a dead battery. You can attempt to jump the car or put a charger on the battery. Once started, you should drive the car w/ minimal accessories on (if jumped to start) to allow the battery to charge. You should have the batter checked for possible replacement or service very soon. I have a question. I have a Kia Rio 2008 and since a few months now, i'm experiencing problems with the ac of my car. My AC is only cooling when the car is not driving, or when the weather is not a hot...

The noise is probably the compressor. Maybe the belt could be loose or worn. You may be low on freon. Start with the easy one, check the belt, then freon. Good luck!

I don't know what is wrong with my car the belt just recently broke and we had to replace it but before we did that the battery died when we were driving and we killed the battery trying to get the car...

sounds like it may be a bad alternator. jump start the car and if it gets going disconnect the negative battery cable and if it dies you have a bad alternator. It may die as soon as you unplug the jump start cables.

My car would not start so I jumped it then I turned the air conditioner on and it stalled

WELL SOUND LIKE BATTERY PROBLEMS.HAVE CAR JUMPED START AGAIN. DONT TURN ON AC OR ANY ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS LET ALTERNATOR CHARGE UP BATTERY.WITH CAR RUNNING BATTERY VOLTAGE SHOULD BE 13.5 - 14.5 VOLTS. IF YES YOUR BATTERY IS DEFECTIVE.MOST OF THE TIME WHEN VECHICLE NEED JUMP START THE BATTERY HAS WEAK CELLS OR MAKE SURE BATTERY CABLES CLEAN AND TIGHT.IF BATTERY VOLTAGE IS NOT 13.5 - 14.5 VOLTS WITH ENGINE RUNNING.ALTERNATOR NOT CHARGING.CHECK ALTERNATOR FUSE + WIRES MAKE SURE THEY ARE TIGHT NOT DAMAGE.CHECK ALTERNATOR DRIVE BELT MAKE SURE ITS NOT LOOSE.DUE TO LOCK OUT FEATURES TURN OFF RADIO BEFORE REMOVING NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE.
