When starting the car sounds like its not going to start for a few rotations but always starts. does not do this every time.

Your problem maybe as simple as old spark plugs, a minor timing difference or air getting into the gas line that has to be pumped out before the car will start. So long as your car starts in under 30 seconds it shouldn't do any harm.
This is common as a car gets older and most likely can be fixed with a tune up and changing the "O" rings on the fuel system.
