It is now time for your van to get whats called "Vehicle Maintenance" done to it. Take it to the shop.

If your MIL light is flashing, its more then just a tune up. take the car in and have it fixed or get someone who has a OBD2 scanner come to your car and scan it.

Fuelpump secondary circuit high. First try changing fuel filter, it is probably plugged which is over working your fuelpump. If filter was or is changed & problem persists will most likely need to change fuelpump.

2003 Ford Windstar.....81K miles......while cruising at top gear(D), if engine is b/w 1500-1800rpm, I get a barely noticeable "buffeting/sputtering". Within past 2 years, have had plugs/ignition...

the sreeing i would make sure belt is tight and have the power steering fluid flushed, you may what to change trany oil with a bg system flush and then after the flush replace the filter and pan gasket,as far as the sputtering it may be the trany or the engine misfiring, have the fuel preasure tested and maybe have the injectors cleaned with a motor vac service, hope this helps,

2001 Ford Windstar van seems to skip when you push

It may be due to plugs, fuel filter, fuel pump, or mass airflow sensor. Is your check engine light on?

Blinking engine light, cylinder 5/missfiring sputtering engine fuel pump has been changed/new spark plugs,wires/injectors computer changed, fuel filter changed still promblem not solved engine is good / so...

look your ignition coil over really good for cracks could be shorting to the engine. also use carb cleaner and spray your intake real good all over listen for a change in the sound of the motor for vacum leaks.

I have a 2003 ford windstar and it sputters when idling and going up hills and when i step on it it back fires whats causing it

plugged fuel filter or maybe a bad fuel pump. Check pressure with a gauge, should be 40 psi.

also, a dirty MAF sensor can cause this. clean by psraying with carb cleaner a few times. disconnect battery to clear memory and leave off for 2 hours and then drive for 10 miles to re-learn.

I'd be looking at removing IAC valve, and cleaning it out with throttle body spray cleaner, and checking mounting gasket as well. Usually some success with cleaning it & spray ports it came out of, but if not you may need to replace it.

96 windstar,power lose

Start withe the cheapest fix first. When was the last time the fuel filter was replaced? Sounds like a plugged fuel filter but I would also check the air filter. It obviously has spark since it was running and if the air filter is clean then all that is left to check is the fuel system. When you turn on the ignition you should be able to hear the fuel pump cycle to pressurize the fuel system. If the pump does not make any noise, then hit the bottom of your fuel tank with a hammer. This will sometimes make the pump work again but should be replaced ASAP. Take off your air intake and look down the throttle body while someone else turns over the engine. You should be able to see the injectors pulsing fuel into the engine. Do you have a 3.8l engine? If so, they are notorious for the timing cover seals leaking. This means that antifreeze will leak into your oil pan and wash down your rod and main bearings. That means that your engine is in need of a rebuild.

Engine sputtering

how long has it been since the air filter and fuel filter been changed ,oxygen sensor in good shape ,if its running rich from misfiring you will ruin the catalytic converter in a short time check for vacuum leaks if its only no 1 cylinder then focus there maybe bad injector only sure way to tell is inspect spark plugs they should look brownish gray color and dry
