SOURCE: position sensor replacement

An 02 neon does not have an APP sensor only a TPS at the throttlebody. Sounds like a bogus code to me.

SOURCE: Diagnostic code P2299 for 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7 hemi?

P2299-BRAKE PEDAL POSITION / ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION INCOMPATIBLE

Set Condition:
The PCM recognizes a brake application following the APPS showing a fixed pedal opening. Temporary or permanent. Internally the PCM will reduce throttle opening below driver demand. One trip fault and the code will be set within 5 seconds. ETC light will illuminate, the light will only stay illuminated while DTC is active.

Possible Causes

DRIVER PRESSING ACCELERATOR PEDAL, THEN PRESSING BRAKE PEDAL, AND CONTINUES TO HOLD THEM DOWN SIMULTANEOUSLY

STOP LAMP SWITCH

APP SENSOR

The most likely cause of this DTC is Brake Torquing the engine by pressing the Accelerator pedal and the pressing the Brake Pedal.

SOURCE: front seat stays in the reclined postion..

The seat position is changed through the use of a cable that runs through a flexible tunnel, under the seat. In one case that I'm aware of, this cable got stuck around a projecting seat spring under the seat. When the seat was reclined and moved backward or forward, the cable caught on the seat spring and the seat had insufficient slack in the cable to release from the reclined position.

SOURCE: Acceleration

I don't know how many miles you have or the condition of the car, but it sounds like it might just be your TPS (throttle position sensor) might be bad as well as the throttle could be sticking open and just need to be cleaned. Find where the throttle cable goes to the intake and just take some spray injector cleaner or something of that nature to clean the throttle plate. Start with the latter first.

What make vehicle ? OBD2 Code P2299 Preventative Auto Service 4x4 light blink indicates a problem in the system an more then likely there is a DTC - diagnostic trouble code stored in the 4x4 control module .The 4X4 module is different then PCM , a code reader will not check codes in 4X4 system , need a professional scan tool .

That is a bad or improper brake or accelerator pedal signal. You must determint which of the 2 is the problem and either replace the switch or troubleshoot to determine if the wires have been disconnected.

  • Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor

    Description & Operation

A power supply is applied on the Accelerator Pedal Position (APP) Sensor (main) power terminal from the PCM. The ground terminal is grounded with PCM. When the accelerator pedal is moved from the idle position to the fully opened position, the resistance between the accelerator pedal position sensor (main) output terminal and ground terminal will increase according to the depression.

Testing

  1. Connect a suitable scan tool to the diagnostic connector. Select APP1 or APP2 percentage.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  3. Measure the voltage at the PCM terminal and ground with connectors connected:

APP1-8% load or 0.4 volts with the accelerator pedal releasedAPP1-60% load or 3.0 volts with the accelerator pedal depressedAPP2 -8% load or 0.4 volts with the accelerator pedal releasedAPP2 -60% load or 3.0 volts with the accelerator pedal depressed
  4. If any check above does not meet the specifications, check connectors and wiring between the sensor and PCM. If ok, replace PCM.
  5. If the measured values are outside the standard value range, or if the load % and/or voltage does not change smoothly, replace the sensor.
