Toyota CR27 (2C; 1974cc) Engine Over Heating after repair

Hi,

I recently got repaired the 2C engine of my Toyota CR27 dual purpose van.

The issue I originally had was a problem related to engine overheating (and resulting water boiling). Got the complete engine repaired with new oil pump, piston rings (without block reboring), gaskets.

The problem still remains even after and the engine still overheats.

Appreciate an answer which I could use as a pointer to start my diagnosis.

My thoughts are head gasket, but probably crack in head.Test for gas with analyser after removing radiator pressure cap.It can be tricky to analyse.I have been Toyota engineer for years and analyser check never fails ! Cheers Phil.

Your radiator is blocked ,try putting some caustic in the rad and running enging for an hour then flushing it and try that ,if it works dont forget the antifreeze, put it in after you have cleared the fault

right remove the water pump and check the drive for the impeller ,if its plastic it could have come off the drive shaft ,this is a common fault and i come across it quite often, now as you will appreciate i havent worked on every model of every vehicle so i have no idea of wiether this model uses a plastic impeller but it might be worth having a look as it could have a aftermarket one fitted ??with a plastic impeller

I have a 2003 Dodge Caravan and recently my van hesitates and bucks and stalled while I was pushing on the gas. What could the issue be?

This generation of Caravans had a problem with the fuel injection wiring harness.
The problem is excessive heating of the harness and the poor quality of the insulation on the individual wires located within the harness. The spot to check is located where the engine FI harness plugs into the body fi harness just behind and below the ign. coil.
It is located near the exhaust crossover and once repaired should be relocated.
Examining the harness will not revel the deteriorated wires located within the harness. You must cut open the outer harness covering on the engine side of the connector to see the wires and make the repairs.
Sometime you can re-insulate the individual wires with tape but it's best to replace the engine FI harness and it's not hard to do.
Ebay sells the harness for about 125/150 bucks.

Hi i have just changed the oil in my toyota hiace van, diesel engine and noticed some water in the old oil... Is this a problem? Why would it happen, what should i do about it?

If you have coolant in the oil you have a problem. If you keep driving it you are going to have a bigger problem. Take it to a shop that is familiar with that engine or you will end up with a BIG repair bill.

I think a hose is broken by the heating coil heating coil works

Let the mechanic replace the hose T. It may be hard to spot the leak. What I would do is get a pressure tester and apply pressure to the system at the radiator cap (make sure its full of fluid) Then you should be able to easily identify where the leak is coming from. It will shoot out of the Tee most likely if thats where the crack is.

It sounds like your valve seals are getting old and are leaking oil into your pistons. As long as it is not using a lot of oil or fouling your spark plugs drive the heck out of it and look the other way when you first crank it up in the morning.
One other problem that will cause this is a cracked head or a leaking head gasket which is getting water on your pistons overnight. Watch for #1 low antifreeze in your radiator #2 higher than normal engine temperatures. This could be a serious problem that could cause expensive damage to your engine if not corrected.
