Think you may have too much gas by weight ?? in the AC system causing the compressor to lock up but their should be a safety valve that will blow the gas out of the compressor ?? i have never seen one of these vehicles except on the tv so iam not the best person to answer but could it have a climatic computer ?? if so run a wire from the switch direct to the compressor this will by pass the computer .sorry but iam british living in spain and these cars are just not seen over here.It could even be its working too well and freezing in the resistrictor valve to be honest i would need to have the vehicle in front of me then i could diagnose it correctly and hit it with the approiate size hammer to fix it

2001 chevy silverado looses all power and stalls, battery light has been on but has been tested along with alternator and tested good. At first, we would jump it and would get 20-30min then die again. All...

Make sure that all the connectors are good...to the battery, mainly to the alternator. Taht should be done with a 12 volt test light at the alternator terminal. The light should be as brillant on both sides of the terminal at the time of the test...with vehicle running. If this test out ok; you will have to start disconnecting fuses one at a time until you find the source that is draining the battery. This can be done by disconnecting the battery and gently touching the cable back on the battery terminal...make sure that all doors are closed so no door lights are on including hood lights that you can disconnect while doing this test. You are looking for spark at the battery terminal. Now, if you have spark; you go to the fuse box and start disconnecting a fuse and going back to the battery and repeat the touch method. If you get a spark, that of course, isn't the fuse that is troubling you, so you replace that one and go to another one until the spark stops at the battery terminal. Once, you have alliminated the fuse at fault, you will now have to look in your owner's manual to see what devices that this fuse supports. Then start unplugging these devices one at a time until there is no spark or very little spark remaining at the battery. This may be too great of a taste for a beginner and may need an tech to do the work, but you can relay this information forward to whomever does the testing. Keep in mind that while unplugging the fuses that the radio stations and clock will need to be reset if you unplug them. This proceedure isn't a hard one, but takes time and care...good luck.

92 roadmaster when the battery has a full charge, it has a bad electrial short it drains the battery, any suggestions?

Remove the neg. cable and attach a test light to the battery, one end on the battery terminal one connected to the neg. cable, (vice grips work well) shut the doors and remove each fuse one at a time or if not possible then remove a fuse and shut the door evrey time, always put the fuse back in it's respective slot, when the test light goes out, that circuit is the electrical draw, this will locate what circuit is the problem, check glove box light, trunk, hood, interior lights, ect

Buick Roadmaster radiator fan

hi Russ, it sounds like the temperature switch is bad. It is located under the hood, front engine area, driver side, end of intake manifold, mounted in the block. U should be able to test it w/ an ohmeter as follows: disconnect wiring (check for loose, corroded, etc as that could be the problem) remove temp. switch, place in an old pot w/ water on stove, w/ temp below 99 degrees, connect ohmeter to terminals, reading should be zero. Heat water to above 99 degrees, check , should read infinity. If it fails this test, it's time to replace it. Good luck, let me know how u make out Curt from Connecticut.
