I managed to crack my auto trans case!! is it possible to replace the case only? and how gig a job am I looking at? its a mitsubishi magna tf (97) model.

There is too much work involved in transferring the internals of your transmission to a new case and would cost too much. Most anybody will tell you to buy a rebuilt transmission and turn yours in as a core. My guess is it will be $1300 to $1800 depending on what is involved in the job.*** Please rate me on this answer.***

    It is never stupid to ask a question before you attempt the unknown. That is the smartest thing you can do. Your may be getting older but more importantly you are getting wiser. I only hope it is true for me too.

m8 there is no drain plug for auto or manual on the box. you have to completely take the pan off, clean it, put new gasket and silicone
