Question about 2002 Jeep Liberty

1 Answer

Heard a pop in the door while driving. The window will go up, not down. Looks like some kind of cable is being pulled up when I closed the window.

Chevy Malibu 2005 window wont roll up or down.

Sounds like the window regulator broke (the mechanism that moves your window up and down). It has cable to do the lifting the window up and pulling the window down. These cables do break.

I seem to be having a problem with the rear driver's side window. When I lower the top and then attempt to close the window it goes up to about 1/2 inch of actually closing completely. What is the best...

regulator is going bad, to get it to close you can push up on the window and have someone push the window button up, this should allow the window to close. You can also pull the door panel off and look at the regulator and cable sometimes you can adjust the cable. There are usually four to five screw and then the door panel pops off. The arm rest and door handle have these screws but then can also be on the outside panel sometimes. Hope this helped tim

I heard a pop and now the drivers side window will not go up or down automatically

The cable broke on the window regulator. Order a new regulator (eBay, about $50.00). You will have to remove the door panel to replace the regulator.

All the windows dropped and had to put a shim in all of them to keep them up. Heard a loud pop the motor works you can hear it go up and down but window is not going up or down. Don't want to have to pay...

u will need to pull the door trim panels off and reattach the windows to the lifting channel they sit in, it will take all day if 4 doors are involved, about 2 hours per door.
