Car's transmission's gone into limp mode. "Limp Mode", is where your transmission's ECU keeps the trans from killing itself. Have you noticed a difference in acceleration? When you get on the highway are your RPM's higher than normal?

Limp Mode restricts your engine and transmission from working itself too hard to keep it from messing something up. Could keep it from getting to certain gears, keep it from revving too high.

It could be the transmission ECU (its computer). Then again it could be the transmission.
Take it to a mechanic or a friend with a ECU code reader. That will tell you a better idea of what could be wrong.

Good luck friend.

Yellow light on dash panel...looks like exclamation mark in circle. That blinks..what does this mean

Some cars have tire pressure sensors that can cause an indicator with an exclamation point to appear on the instrument panel.

Check the pressure in all of your tires.

Your car manual (probably crammed into your glove box somewhere) will have a diagram of all the instrument panel lights and a brief description of what they all mean.

What does the yellow cog light on the dash of my 1999 BMW Z3 mean?

The car is now quite old, and the yellow gear ("cog") light indicates that the hydraulic pressure in the transmission is incorrect. Check fluid level and, if the fluid is murky or off-color, have the transmission serviced and the filter replaced.

What does the triangle with the arrow round it mean and what does the triangle with the exclamation mark in mean please

The triangle with the arrow around it is for the wheel speed sensor. The triangle with the exclamation point is for tire pressure. Low tire pressure would set both of these lights off.

What does the light on my dash mean

You can find that information in the owners manual. If you don't have one you can downlaod one from the KIA factory site for owners. Just google it.

2003 Ford taurus gear shaped light on dash comes on after exccelration abouve 60 mph. Orange gear shaped light comes on the dash. It has an exclamation point inside th gear shape

Looks like your computer is detecting a transmission/transaxle problem. Have you had your filter changed in the tansmission yet? Are you a little low on transmission fluid? Is the transmission fluid high like it's overfilled? Is your transmission fluid brownish and smell burnt? Just a couple of things you might need to look at. You may or even should take it to a reputible transmission shop and have them run a scan on it to see what the problem is. I know this doesn't seem like much help to you at this point and time but I would have it taken care of before any damage may happen.

Yellow light on dash has exclamation point in center. ridges at bottom.

That is your low tire pressure warning. One of the tires is low, a TPM may have failed, or the system needs to be reset.

Warning light --Upside down horseshoe with exclamation point

It should be letting you know that you have a tire pressure problem. If you still have the owners manual read it. It will explain what to do, what to look for and how to reset the light if need be.

Not sure what display lights mean

The srs I believe is the airbag. As for the exclamation point, is it something that looks a bit like this? (!) Because if it is, then its the tire pressure. At least it was in the rental that I had once. Either way, before you buy the car, have it checked out by a mechanic. There could be something going on inside that doesnt have a warning light. I could be wrong about those two suggestions, but thats what it sounds like to me. Still have it checked out. You dont want to end up with a lemon. Good luck.
