If it was rebuilt, could be it was just not a complete rebuild. Some remans are just fixed and cleaned up. Some are completely gone through and good as new. You should have a warranty. Most good remans come with a lifetime warranty or at least one replacement as long as you own the car..

When you purchased a new alternator is it not under warrenty?

Check the wiring harness of the vehicle for any short circuit. Its no the matter of the country, its concern of the product quality. Your could not be problem. Check it our with the dealer directly now.

Have the fuel; pump checked for pressure bleed down after sitting, it should hold pressure within 5 PSI of rated running pressure after shutting sown the engine for extended periods.

My battery died so I brought the car back to the placed that replaced it a year ago. They said it was a bad cell but they are also telling me I need a new alternator it is at 13.2 is that low?

Yes, that is on the low side for recharge. A good alternator should put out around 14 volts. 13.2 is sufficient to recharge the battery, but when you are also running your lights, heater, A/C, radio, etc. at the same time, it would not be enough to keep your battery fully charged at all times. Personally, I would replace the alternator at that point, it is bound to fail altogether soon.

I bought a 2001 Santa Fe a month ago. Since then we have replaced the alternator twice. Could there be something else causing the alternator to go bad? The battery is brand new as well.

alternators are electric motors in reverse basically, only a couple of things to go wrong, bearings and internal wiring(brushes)as you dont say what the problem was,and when i worked for hyundai they rarely went,so i am loathe to guess......did you buy new parts or from a dismantler?????? i dont know.....

I have a 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe and it keeps dieing on me. The starter, battery and alternator are all fine, what is the problem?

You didn't tell us under which conditions it is dying while at a steady speed, at an idle, when cold or warm, etc. Knowing those would help narrow the cause.
At a guess, I would be looking at the coil pack, idle air control or a failing fuel pump.

Brake light and battery light came on at the same time

Have your alternator and alternatorwiring checked, if the ALT light goes on, so does the brake. So it could be that the alternator is faulty. Also check the fuses.

I had the same problem with a 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe. While driving to work as I pressed on the gas the brake and battery light would come on. When I applied the brake, the lights would go off. When I got to work I turned the car off and then tried to start it, nothing. The car made a funny sound while running and I could smell somethig smoking. I replaced the alternator and all is good again. When removing the alternator the bottom lifts off the mounting bracket, you cannot drive the bottom bolt back through the mount as I tried to. Simply remove the nut on the bottom bolt and remove the top bolt, then lift the alternator out.

Whining Noise

Sure sounds like a power steering pump, if they did not flush the grim out of the system from the old pump before they replaced the pump the new pump will fail in short order.
