During hot weather or during long hot drives when accelerator will stick causing me to speed up uncontrollably

Are you sure this is a 2000 model? What size engine - 3.5 or 3.8? And does it really speed up, or just not slow down? Never, ever heard of this happening in an LX5 Intrigue. Did someone just replace the engine? I would have someone check the throttle cables for binding, and have them disconnect the cruise cable for a test drive. And stop watching the news about Toyota : )

2000 olds intrigue 3.5 trans worked fine shut car off next day car wont move in drive worked in reverse if you start in first and slowly shift up drive will work but if you accelerate to fast trans will...

Sounds like the overdrive is stuck,or the lock up converter, look for a (I think it is a four wire connector)on the transmission, unplug it,and see if it will drive, you just will not have over drive, let it cool down first,or it will not come out of lock up.

Jerky accelerating, late response to gas being pressed

Well for one, make sure you speed up slowly, dont HIT the accelerator. It may also be problems with your fuel filter. After you are stoped fuel stops running through the fuel pump/filter and then when you start going its starts to run through again and it cant keep up so it gets bubbles in it and doesnt move throught the filter easily hence the jerky accelerating. Good Luck
