I put a new stater on my 1992 Cadillac Deville and the iginition still wont turn over.....can somebody tell me what else could be the problem...Thank you

These cars are equipped with an ANTI THEFT system. When this system starts to fail, it goes into antitheft mode and disables the starter, Look for a light on the dash that says SECURITY, If you see this light, then that is your problem. This link will help with that

1996 Nissan Maxima won't start at times when it is hot outside

You must verify first the problem, If the solenoid kick when you turn the key the problem is in the contact in sol. . If nothing kick you get a wire to direct the sol. wire to the battery if it kick. Then your problem is in the relay of starter. If the stater did not run, the problem is in stater the carbon brushes might be worn out.

The stater is still good but i took off to clean.when i put back does not start the car.the starter is working.what i can do.

Chances are the teeth on the starter are hitting the flywheel. You may have installed it a little crooked. Take it off and try to put it on a little different. Make sure all your connections are where they belong! P.s. I have never heard of cleaning a starter... Don't fix it if it Ain't Broke!
