I dont whats so hard if you are asking the right people? try any GM dealer. I dont have access right now, but I dont think a Trailblazer HAS a IAC valve.

On an inspection report, I received the code "P1294 Target idle not reached" for my 1998 Chrysler Cirrus LXi. What do I do to fix this? What part(s) will I need?

this is not that simple. the codes is telling you that the engine will not idle whrere the computer is telling it to. this can be due to a few things. it could be as simple as a dirty throtlebody or it can be a bad idle air control valve or other sensors. the correct way would be to use a scan tool and start checking the operation or things like the tps sensor and then trying to open and close the idle air control valve. most of these that i repair are due to dirty throtle or bad valve but without checking it this is hard to say so try clean the throtle and remove and clean the valve and then go from there. good day.

I took my 2000 Odyssey into the dealer to check the transmission. They found that the idle error control valve was bad, even though the van had been idling just fine. We declined repair, since we were...

I assure you they probally picked up on the problem while checking the trans. they would've used the Honda scan tool and checked any engine malfuntions before evaluating the transmission. you can, however, clean the idle/air control valve by removing it from the throttle body and using some air-intake cleaner on it. the cleaner is available at local parts stores. you may also want to clean the throttle plate with the cleaner to insure it is not sticking to cause the idle problem.

My 97 Grand Cherokee just started to idel at 2000 rpm. It also started to start hard.

First thing you want to do there is to clean up the throttle body bore using carb cleaner, especially around the perimeter of the throttle plate on top and bottom. Next will be to spray some into the opening near the top that goes to the idle control valve (you can feel air rushing into that port with your finger with the engine running). Often that will clear anything that's keeping the idle from returning to normal. Also check to make sure the throttle cable is in good condition and not binding and that the return spring is in place. If that fails, remove the idle air control valve and manually clean it. Do not loose the "o" ring or turn the valve extension when doing that though.
You also need to check all the vacuum hoses connected to the engine to make sure none are split or disconnected. Check at the engine end and then trace each to it's destination, inspecting each part as you go. Most times doing that will find any vacuum leaks you may have. You can also spray cleaner along the parting line between the intake manifold and cylinder head. If the idle changes when diong that, you have a bad gasket there or a warped manifold. Sometimes slightly tightening the bolts will help, other times you need to remove the manifold.
If you have a check engine light on, have the codes read. That is also helpful in finding any control problems. Most larger parts stores will do that free.

My 89 toyota pickup 22re fuel injected serges when idling when its warmed up

The Idle Air Control Valve (IACV) may need cleaning or replacement.

This valve lets air bypass the throttle plate so that the engine can idle. The more air, the faster the idle. If this valve is sticky, the computer may have a hard time regulating the idle properly and may surge.

Idle air control valve over speed error/Code P1506

it is a fairly easy to replace the valve and its hard to say if the valve will fix your problem without a diagnosis i hope this helps

    1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.

    1. Disconnect the idle air control valve electrical connector.

    1. Remove the two bolts and remove the Idle Air Control valve (IAC valve) and gasket.

    1. Follow the removal procedure in reverse order. CAUTION:
      • If scraping is necessary, make sure not to damage the idle air control valve or the throttle body gasket surfaces or drop the gasket material into the throttle body.
      • The idle air control valve has a sludge resistant design andmust not be cleaned, or damage to the anti-sludge coating may result.
