Any serpentine belt is most easily removed with a good sharp knife or pair of snips. J.

It is a precautionary act, water pump and tensioner should be replaced for peace of mind. The xost of replacing a water pump will be higher if it has to be changed at another time, a new belt
might have to be fitted too. Best to get it all done in one go is the current wisdom

Should be replaced due to age. Just remember a new car can break down any time as well.
