Question about 1993 Mazda MX-6

I have a mazda mx6 and i changed the air intake system on the car. when i changed it, the car will turn over and then will shut off. So i put the old air intake back on the car only to have the same problem. The car will turn on but then turns off and the fan at the fron by the radiator is not turning. Help

    ive checked everything on the car and everything is connected. I even put the orignal intake back on it the same way it was and still nothing.

Check the connectors for the air flow meter or something is not pot on properly maybe earth strap?

    disconnect the battery for 60 sec vehicle may need to relearn or reset try does the engine spin over quicker than it should do you think?

I have a 91 mazda mx6 it will turn over but will not always fire up,but when it does it may run for a long time or it may die rite away and then sometimes it'll start up and sometimes I can crank the batt....


Check the air intake tube that goes to the throttle body, Check for cracks or leaks, This can cause unmetered air to get by the mass air flow sensor

3 bolts the one you can't see is in back of the starter solenoid. Bolt's are almost at a triangle pattern.

First check your air flow to your intake. To have combustion you gotta have fuel, spark, and air. Also check your MAF (Mass Air Flow Sensor) This is located just before the intake. If its not this, your engine timing may be off.

The butterfly at the air intake may be dirty. If at all possible remove the breathers leading to this and clean the butterly with carbuerator cleaner or something like it. There may be deposits and it is not breathing good.

93 mazda mx6 wont run. will start but runs very rough and only for a few seconds. plugs are black and getting too much fuel. I replaced the fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel pressure regulator. I think the...


the tps may affect the idle, but not really the excessive fuel. check that your coil has enough spark, remove plug watch spark. otherwise check haul senders in distributor or check injectors are not leaking.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Loosen the hose band and remove the intake hose.
89544p13.gif To remove the mass air flow sensor, first detach its wire harness connection
89544p14.gif Next, remove the sensor-to-air cleaner housing retaining bolts and loosen the air intake pipe clamp
89544p15.gif Pull the sensor out of the air cleaner housing
89544p16.gif Inspect the air flow sensor sealing ring and replace as needed
  1. Remove the airflow meter attaching bolts and detach the wire harness connector.
  2. Remove the airflow meter from the air cleaner housing.
  3. Installation is the reverse order of the removal procedure.

i have a 91 mx6. the intake is all cattywompus and im just goin to take a piece of metal and tube and cut a hole in the peice of metal and weld the tube to it take my stupid box out and run that pipe staight to a coupling and then to the cone air filter.
