I had the same trouble with same engine it was one I sold to a customer We were baffled until we checked the fuel pressure when starter was engaged and seen the pressure dropped a lot. It dropped far enough so it would not fire the injectors. If the battery had a full charge and I mean full charge it would start but when the customer left her cell phone on charge overnite it would not start. Check that out our pump was just weak enough that it needed a full 12 volts for it to push enough pressure during cranking to fire the injectors. Good Luck. Darrell S

Your fuel injectors will need to be cleaned out. The vehicle computer sends a signal for each injector. Check the ignition coil and ignition module with a multimeter, these two componants control the spark to the plugs for ignition.

Make sure you have a fully charged battery and I would run a can of injector cleaner through the gas tank.

Low compression cylinder 2 and 4

A mechanic doesn't know why the motor
has low compression ?

Wouldn't you conclude that person has no
test equipment or doesn't know how to use it

Obviously you have bad valves or a failed head gasket,
if only two cylinders are an issue

2000 jeep wrangler wont start

If it won't crank, check clutch safety switch and cables for the starter.
If it cranks but won't start, you'll need to find out if it is ignition or fuel to know where to look next.

I have a 1991 toyota pick up that won't start. I have spark the and it seems as the truck wants to start but i don't think its geting fuel. Fuel preasure is good. what should i check next?

An injector pulse tester is called a "noid light". You plug it into the injector connector, and, cranking, it should flash, or blink. Try it on each injector connector.Buy them from any parts store. Blinking light means you are getting power to the injectors. The igniter tells the computer when to ground the injector signal, so it will operate and spray fuel into your cylinder. goodluck.

My son has a 1996 Volvo 850 GLT Wagon and he needs the spark plug diagram. He changed the plugs, rotor, and distributor cap and the vehicle will not start. He did this work because the engine was running,...

Don't know your engine size so pick the correct one for your motor:

2.3L 4-Cylinder Engines Firing Order: 1–3–4–2 Distributor Rotation: Clockwise

2.8L 6-Cylinder Engine Firing Order: 1–6–3–5–2–4 Distributor Rotation: Clockwise

2.9L 6-Cylinder Engines Firing Order: 1–5–3–6–2–4 Distributorless Ignition

2.3L and 2.4L 5-Cylinder Engines Firing Order: 1–2–4–5–3 Distributor Rotation: Counterclockwise

Ignition lock cylinder wont come out. bought a new one to replace it, but cannot get the old one out. Any ideas? HELP!!!

under the steering weel, right below the lock cylinder there are three holes, two about the same size one smaller, the small hole is to pick the lock cylinder with a thin small screw driver i prefer philips.

1.- insert the key
2.- turn the key to on position (don't start the car)
3.- insert the screw driver until you touch the cylinder, find the locking ball, push, lock cylinder should move and pull the key with the lock cylinder
4.- install the new cylinder by pushing in.

Car will not start

If I am right, the firing order is,1-3-4-2. With the dissy cap removed, have someone turn the engine over so you can see which way the rotor arm goes. Set the engine to TDC and the rotor arm should point to the No1 cylinder at the start of the firing order. If it rotor points away from the No 1 cylinder then slacken the dissy housing and move the diddy until the rotor ppoints to the No1 cylinder. Now pHT lead from the No1 spark plug to the No 1 possition on the dissy cap. The next lead goes on the next available possition on the dissy cap in the way of the rotation of the rotor then to the No3 spark plug carry on the same with 2 and 4 and that should solve your problem unless you have a different firing order.
