You could try doing it yourself. But little or no money? Maybe you could find someone that does this and date them. The last convertible top I had replaced was $1400.00 and that was the best price I could find. Was it damaged somehow or is it just worn out? If it was damaged than your insurance may cover it. Good luck!

It's just worn and leaking a little. Thank you for your response. I'll try doing it myself.

I'll check with the insurance first.

I would check e-Bay, you can usually find a replacement top, and they usually have installation directions to do it yourself.

Vacuum cleaner noise is a classic symptom of a plugged catalytic converter. Get to a muffler shop and make some choices based on what they tell you. Stay away from chain stores, use a local guy.

My 97 chevy cavalier will not go faster than 35 wat could be the problem

Assuming normal torque and no slipping at the tranny, a dead catalytic converter will cause this.

Possibly bad tpos sensor

Bad idle air control valve

Check the computer codes first before spending any more money on it

Also do a compression check
