I would check your fuses, but it sounds like you have a bad alternator. Most local parts stores can test it.

The alternator is not generating enough current to the coil to maintain the spark. This could be a bad coil or a bad alternator or BOTH. When you are connected with cables the extra voltage required as you accellerate the gas pedal is pulled from the DONOR car battery and motor. When running at idle your car DISCONNECTED there is not much demand for power. As you press on the gas the RPM increases requiring more spark than you car can produce and it cant recover... trying to keep up drains what charge there is from being jumped off and the car dies. The fact that it dies leads me to believe the alternator should be your first troubleshooting area... You can test this with a multimeter. You should get 14+ volts coming out of the back of the alternator. The car requires 12 volts to run the engine and the extra volts are put back into the battery as a charge...less than 12 volts is a sign of a bad alternator and can cause your problem.

Oil pressure is jumping from 20lbs to 0lbs,truck almost dies then the oil pressure jumps back up to 30lbs then back to 10lbs ,

To start, take the vehicle to a dealer and ask them to screw an oil pressure gauge into the block hole and check your oil pressure whilst idling and while driving it.
I have a 1993 and it does the same thing, but the problem is only the gauge itself.
If it is actually having such oil pressure fluctuations, you may have a defective pump, a clogged pump filter screen, or a clogged oil filter.
God bless your efforts.

2003 Elantra-Car ran fine until my son's door was not complelety shut and battery died, jumped car, but once the jumper cables were removed the car dies. Thinking it was an electrical issue, check

some alternators need battery voltage to stay running and after killing a battery if may not recover and you will need to replace it then i would check the fuses its posible that when first jumped the cable where on backwards

Changed plugs and wires, runs ok, but in idle it misses, sounds like crossed wire, moving it's fine good take off no missing while running

2.imageMake sure your new wires are connected all the way on the coils. It's common for the wires to slide out a bit when you first put the new ones on. At an idle, there's not always enough power to jump the gap, but once you get going, it can do it, and everything seems to run fine. That would be the first thing to check.

98' Cav.. Drove it to store, shopped, didnt leave anything running or turned on. Went to car, opened dr...no dome light (thought, hmph, must have burned out -- fix later). Tried to start car... I turned...

this sound to me like at first I thought it was a fuse, as the problem went on it shifted more toward a weak cell in the battery, if a weak cell sits for a little while the battery will not hold the charge in that cell and that will cause loss of power, "its charge", in tne other cells. you had mentioned you used another battery and it ran great but when the battery was removed, things went wrong. You may check to see if there is water in your battery

I have to jump it to start once started runs fine until i let off gas then it stalls

have your battery checked. a bad battery will take most of the voltage that your alt can produce at a high idle but all the volts at a normal idle leaveing nothing left to run the car

The throttle body needs cleaning. It has some carbon build up, and when the battery went dead the computer lost its learned values, one of which is base throttle position. Now its reset back to factory specs, not accounting for a dirty throttle body. Seen it a million times
