Even though the Compressor is engaging it doesn't mean the Compressor is working internally. I would have the Compressor tested to determine if it is working properly.

My air conditioner is blowing warm air on the driver side and cold on the passenger side

see this steps and think with clearly and logically NOT feared. God bless you
checkmark.gif Start with the compressor. Does it engage when you turn on the A/C?
If so, the compressor is working and the A/C system probably contains enough refrigerant to make cold air, so the problem is inside the HVAC unit. Replace the motor that controls the blend air door (this is a difficult job and best left to a professional since it involves tearing apart the HVAC unit -- about an 8 to 10 hour job!).
If the compressor does not engage when you turn on the A/C, see if it will run by jumping the compressor clutch wire directly to the battery (use a fused jumper wire). If the compressor works when you jump it, and the A/C blows cold air, the system contains refrigerant and the fault is likely a bad A/C compressor clutch relay or a bad clutch cycling switch or pressure switch.
If the compressor does not engage when you jump it, the problem is a bad compressor clutch.
If the clutch engages but the compressor does not turn (the belt will start to slip and squeal), the compressor is locked up and you need a new compressor.
If the compressor clutch engages and turns the compressor, but the A/C still does not blow cold air, the system is probably low on refrigerant and needs to be recharged.

My 98' Saturn Sl1 air conditioning does not work. Before I got my motor fixed it worked but now that I replaced it with a used new motor it wont blow out cold air. The Heater works prefect but the Ac...

If you didn't take the air compressor off the old engine then you probably have a bad compressor on the new motor. If you did then you may not have installed it or wired it correctly.

With the car in idle, turn the AC on and off and watch the rpms, they should fluctuate slightly when you turn it on and off, if they don't change at all then the compressor probably isn't wired to the controls.

The reason for the fluctuating RPM is that when the compressor kicks on it creates a load on the engine, which causes the rpms to temporarily dip down, the engine will then feed more gas to recover the original RPM.

Ac blows cold air for about 15 minutes then starts blowing warm air then starts blowing cold air again freon is full

Freon is not full. If it goes back and fourth it is pumping then reaching a low pressure on the low side below 35 psi. Pressure while car is off should be pegged. Check at idle should be around 50 psi and 35 psi at 2000 rpms.

Good luck. If problem persists evac system replace dryer and recharge.

Fan blows but no cold air comes out

I would check to see that when you turn on the A/C that the A/C clutch is engaging, it's a round plate on the front of the A/C compressor, when not engaged, it won't be turning and the clutch is not engaged to the compressor to creat the cold air. Usally when it engages, you'll a slight load on the motor. This could be caused by low R-134 or other electrical problems, bad fuse, bad pressure switches.

Heater does not blow hot only cold air. Every so often the heater blows hot . When driving on freeway the heater works sometimes but turns cold when at red light.

Check the radiator level, if it low the hot coolant will not reach the heater. Second may be the water pump, as it wares the clearance increases and the efficiency goes way down and it cannot pump the coolant unless the engine revs are up.....

I had simaler problem thought it was thermostat turned out to be low coolant check that other wise it somthing to do with your water pump/ pulley/or serpentine belt. Its the only way RPMs can affect your cooling. If you hear a knocking when you get no heat id guess pump otherwise its probably your belt or pulley.

1998 gmc sonoma air conditioner - not cold

Check the magnetic clutch is engaged on front of a/c pump, have the motor running, a/c on and fan on high, if the centre hub is static the pump in not switched on, this can happen when the gas pressure gets low.

AC doesn't blow cold air on 95 4 runner. Can I check compressor

Well, for one with the truck idling, the RPMs should increase every time that the clutch on the compressor engages. You should be able to see it engage and disengage and the RPMs will change accordingly. If this isn't happening then you need to determine why. Have the A/C blower on low when doing this.
