What is: P1165 & P1175 Please ?

DTC P1175 indicates that there's a problem with the Camshaft Position Sensor circuit. This does not necessarily mean the CAM sensor is the problem. The source of the problem can vary from one make and model to another. What is the Year, Make, Model and Engine liter? Besides the engine light are there any other symptoms? Drivability issues like smell of gas, misfire, stalling, oil engine oil level and engine temperature can cause this code. Faulty oxygen sensor, ignition problem, fuel injection problem, poor cylinder compression, fuel,air or exhaust restrictions or some other failure can also cause this code. Like you said the first two codes are tps related. Check your wire harness and wiring could be shorted to ground or have a broken wire. The third code is for map sensor no response shorted or open circuit.

The ECM has numerous sensors that are read continuously and these results are checked against pre-set parameters in the CPU memories. Every possible cause of a fault code is an associated sensor that is being affected by the fault so there are several possible reasons that cause the fault . That is to say wiring is a possible cause ---the unit itself is another possible cause---low /high voltage is another and so on. Take it to a service centre as with most makes of vehicles there is a common fault problem that experienced technicians are aware of and can pin point quickly. P1175 refers to the passenger side bank of cylinders. The HO2S sensor upstream of that catalytic converter, detects a rich or lean cylinder to cylinder air/fuel ratio imbalance. Its something like detecting a misfire condition. An interesting check item shown, is to check for a restricted, damaged, leaking, or MODIFIED exhaust system, from catalytic converter going forward to the engine. An as usual, they tell you to look for any possible vacuum leaks, which seem to cause all kinds of symptoms.
