The car starts and run but after short period of time it dies .This problem indicates problem in the fuel pump or clogged fuel filter. But in your case you have replaced this both possibilities .In your car their is CPS sensor.Did you got this sensor checked. A common problem with the diesel cars is that the CPS or crank position sensor goes out due to vibration. If the computer isn't getting a signal from the CPS, it won't allow any fuel to flow from the injection pump. Check the sensor. The sensor runs about $50. Thanks. keep updated for any more query.you can rate this solution and show your appreciation.

The fuel pump is suspect but I believe there's also a fuel filter inline on the underside of the drivers side chassis. Fuel works off pressure so if the filter is clogged, the pressure remains between the fuel tank and the filter. Once the fuel has siphoned off between the filter and injectors, it dies but because there's positive pressure at the fuel pump, it won't come on until the pressure slowly seeps past the clog after hours. It's worth a look!

Air in fuel line. changed all the filters. put a new in-line filter before the fuel pump. engine runs for a few miles and then dies. i have to bleed the air out of the fuel pump and then it will start and...

I'm a little confused. You changed all the fuel filters? How many do you have? If you have a late model vehicle, then your fuel pump is in the fuel tank. How did you put an in line filter before the pump. Is your vehicle gas or diesel?

MY 2001 DODGE STRATUS WILL START AND RUN UNTIL THW ENGINE IS WARM THEN SPUTTER AND THEN DIES. WHAT IS WRONG?

Sounds like a clogged fuel filter of a dying fuel pump. Start with the fuel filter, they are usually less than 20 bucks and pretty easy to change. If it persists, check into changing the fuel pump. Good luck.

My son ran my truck out of gas. Its a 1988 F250

first, is this a diesel? if it is there is a line or oring loose allowing it to **** air--diesels dont like leaks like that and there is a whole procedure for voiding the air from the lines on diesels. next could be the in tank pump and also does it have duel tanks? does the duel tank switch work? running out of fuel with in tank pumps can burn up the pump (the fuel itself provides lubrication and cooling for the pump, gas or diesel) and of course check the filter, running out and refilling could have disturbed trash in the tank
