Hard to start and runs rough, will idle after few minutes and sounds good, with breather and air filter off will hear a vaccum sound and starts to run rought again then will pass and be ok, could it be bad gas or trash in fuel system?

Soulds like a vachum leak or a stuck EGR valve, if you have a vachum gauge or can drive it to autozone they can put a vachum gauge on it and see if it has 18HG of vachum if it is lower you have a leak. otherwise it may be a fuel problem, however you would have had to just have put fuel it it recently to know if that was the problem, it is possible to have water in the gas even thought they have ways to detect water in the fuel when it's in the ground. Let me know if you need more help. And thanks for using Fix-ya

05 Bonneville sle wont idle till warn

Sounds like the M.A.F. sensor. It monitors the air temp before it goes into the engine like example, if its cold out,it tell the p.c.m to adjust the air, fuel mixture because it need a little more gas to start and run a cold engine compared to it be 80 degrees out and the engine needing less gas to run. I try to explain it the best way that I can but it sounds like to me you have a bad MAF sensor.the usually located in the breather box by the air filter or in the inlet tube before it goes into the intake. Good luck, stay safe and keep us posted!

My car hard start then dies after few minutes in idle

Sounds like a fuel problem. Dirty fuel. Or a leaking return pipe. Possibly a blocked tank breather

Hard Starts, Rough Idle

Certainly possible.Key on /engine off cycles the pump for 3 secs.In a quiet place like an enclosed garage you can hear these pumps running and at this stage it might sound abnormal, louder and squeel-ish in a sense. Then can be verified by taking fuel pressure readings with a test gauge...good luck

Did you try changing the air breather for the motor? You need three things inorder for the engine to run well. Air,fuel, and spark.since you had a tune up and fuel flushed.I can only think of two things.First I never heard of flushing a fuel filter, you change it ( not flush it ) change your fuel filter, eliminate the guess work. And change your breather.

1989 Ford Escort GT 1.9L HO starts then dies after a few seconds.

Check the idle air control valve. This sounds like it is not working right. it controls how much air the engine gets when it is idling. the pcm tells it to open more or close. they get old and dont respond fast enuf.

Good luck

93 grand cherokee has a very rough idle what could be the problem

Also check the vaccum hose from the fuel pressure regulator to the intake manifold, it is right on top, to the front right of the valve cover where the fuel lines attach to the fuel rail, there is a small vaccum hose that runs from the regulator to the intake manifold, I have a 93 grand cherokee limited w/ 4.0L 6cyl, it was hard to start at times, wouldnt start at times without starting fluid spray and had your symptoms at idle, running rough like it wanted to stall like it was out of gas, I had various opinions ranging from fuel pump was bad to the fuel filter to the fuel presure regulator, the fuel pump relay ,etc....after replacing the relay and having the same symptoms, some digging brought me to this vaccum hose, wich had a break in it, when it was replaced it allowed the regulator to have the correct fuel pressure output and solved all the afforementioned problems way cheaper than the suggested alternitives. good luck.

Running rough

hi,

could be the idle air control solenoid , its right below the throttle position sensor(opposite where you can open the throttle with your hand) on the 3.3v6, when that goes it does all sorts of stuff, bottom line its going to have to be put on a dyno to see what it is but you can take that part off and get one at the junkyard we got a whole throttle body for 10.00. Try also to disconnect the electrical connector off the idle air control solenoid and see if runs any differently, then youll know right away
