At the top of the headlight, there should be 2 metal rods to pull up and then remove the headlight, then you will need to release the bottom light housing. when you look at it, you will then be able to figure it out, its not rocket science.

Where is the DRL module located on a 2003 GMC Savana 1500?

There is no DRL module .
Daytime Running Lamps (DRL)
The DRL are a function of the front turn signal lamps. The DRL will operate when the ignition switch is in the RUN position, the gear selector is not in the PARK position, and the headlamp switch is in the OFF position. When the BCM receives these signals it will signal the turn/hazard flasher module to turn on the DRL by grounding the DRL low control signal. The turn/hazard flasher module supplies voltage to the DRL on the right and left DRL/turn supply voltage circuits. If a front turn signal lamp is inoperative the DRL will not operate.
The DRL can be deactivated by turning the headlamp switch to the DRL OFF position while the DRL are operating. The DRL defeat position of the headlamp switch is a momentary ground signal to the BCM to command the DRL function ON or OFF. After each key cycle the BCM will default to the DRL ON function.

The headlights on 97 pontiac sunfire have no power to them. It looks like the ignition has been replaced and the security has been tripped. causing car to pull less power, not run right. Any ideas

Yea, take it to a qualified repair shop ! Could be anything , and with out doing some test couldn't make a suggestions .
Headlights/Daytime Running Lights (DRL) Circuit Description
The instrument cluster controls the headlamp systems that include daytime running lamps (DRL). The system allows the headlamps to operate at a reduced intensity when all of the following conditions apply:
• The engine is running.
• The transaxle is not in the PARK position.
• The normal headlamps are not on.
The instrument cluster turns the DRL system on by grounding CKT 592, thereby energizing the DRL relay. This action allows a reduced voltage of 6 volts to flow across the headlamps. If the vehicle has the optional fog lamps, the fog lamp relay will also be energized. The park lamps will turn on and the fog lamps will operate normally. When the headlamp switch is turned to the ON position, the instrument cluster allows normal headlamp operation.
The instrument cluster also has an input from the park brake. If the park brake is in the ON position, the DRL will remain disabled until the park brake is placed in the OFF position. On vehicles with an automatic transaxle, the instrument cluster will disable the DRL until the transaxle has been taken out of the PARK position.

Why does my 1999 chevy malibu headlights turn on by them self in middle of night

You have a gremlin ! No , just kidding . No it's not the ignition switch ! The headlamps right an left have there own fuse in the under hood fuse box . LH HDLP - RH HDLP . Power direct to the head lamps an they ground through the headlamp switch when placed in high or low beams . Next time they come on wiggle the headlamp switch an see if they go out ! Does your vehicle have auto lights ? Day time running lamps ? The BCM - body control module controls Automatic lamp control !
Battery voltage is applied to the headlamp bulbs at all times. The headlamps are controlled by supplying the ground for the lamps through the turn/headlamp switch assembly or the body control module (BCM). When the turn/headlamp switch is in the ON position, the ground is supplied through CKT 150.
The BCM controls the daytime running lamps (DRL). The system allows the headlamps to operate at a reduced intensity under the following conditions:
?€¢
The engine is running.

?€¢
The transaxle is not in the PARK position.

?€¢
The normal headlamps are turned OFF.

The BCM activates the system by grounding CKT 592. This action energizes the DRL relay. This condition allows a reduced voltage to flow to the headlamps. When the headlamp switch is turned to ON, the headlamps operate normally.
The parking brake provides an input to the BCM. When the parking brake is engaged, the DRL remain disabled until the parking brake is disengaged.

I tried to disable DRL but when i did my low beams dont work, any ideas?

You are wasting your time. This system is automatically controlled by the Daytome Running Lamp module. The system requires the daytime running lamp relay to work in order for the low beam headlamps to work. Any attemps to "disable" the daytime running lamps will also disable the low beam headlamps. I think what you are having problems understanding is that your headlamp switch does not actually turn the lights on. The switch only provides power so the DRL module can operate....it doesn't send power directly to the lamps. The power to the lamps is provided by the relay, which is operated by the DRL module. Unless you want to completely "re-engineer" the ENTIRE headlamp system, you are not going to get it to work the way you are wanting it to.

I own a 1997 chevy lumina, when I turn the car off the park lights and tail lights stay on, as well as the beeping alarm in the car, the only way to get the lights off is to disconnect the battery, it has...

it has command start ???? Is this some kind of aftermarket add on ? This shouldn't have anything to do with the running lamps . unless someone hooked something up in correctly . Does the car have DRL - day time running lamps ? The Daytime Running Lamps (DRL) control module is designed to automatically operate exterior lights depending on outside light conditions.
The DRL control module operates in 2 modes:
• The day mode
In the day mode, the DRL control module turns ON the high beam headlamps at a reduced intensity when the DRL ambient light sensor detects daylight under the following conditions:
- The ignition switch is in the RUN position.
- The headlamps are OFF.
- The park brake is OFF (released).
• The low light mode
In the low light mode, the DRL ambient light sensor detects darkness, turning OFF the high beam headlamps and turning ON the low beam headlamps through circuit 10.
Additionally, the DRL ambient light sensor turns ON the following lamps through circuit 9:
- The park lamps
- The sidemarker lamps
- The license lamps
- The tail lamps

How to change light on front day time lights

Open the hood. Pull up on the retaining pins that hold the headlamp assembly into place.
2 Pull straight up on the headlamp assembly carefully, as all of the bulb wiring will be attached to the rear of the assembly.3 Locate the DRL bulb in the headlamp assembly, which will may be the socket at the inboard position in the assembly.4 Turn the DRL bulb socket in a counterclockwise direction and pull it straight out of the back of the headlamp assembly. (Note: Some vehicles may utilize a release lever that needs to be depressed before the socket can be turned.) 5 Pull the DRL bulb straight out of the socket and discard it. Push a fresh bulb into its place until it is fully seated.6 Push the socket back into the rear of the headlamp assembly and turn it in a clockwise direction until it locks into place.7 Place the headlamp assembly back into position on the front of the vehicle. Push the retaining pins back down until they lock into place.

How do I replace my 2007 tahoe daytime running lights?

Open the hood. Right on top of the headlamp assembly you will see a round metal lever (1/4" in diameter) fitting into securing clip. Pull it out by turning it clockwise 1/2 turn then pull it straight up to release the locking mechanism of the headlamp assembly. Lift out the assembly and remove it out of the way then look straight down where it sits and you can see the backside of the daytime running lights where the bulbs are. This procedure after knowing this secret takes a couple of minutes to replace the bulbs.
