It won't keep runnig

Have an Audi quatro A6. First the only problem was the battery (changed new) then the alternator (changed new but deffective so changed for another new one) after the first alternator was replaced the battery light still blinks; so after two days (car was parked) try again and get worst, the engine won't keep running like almost out of gas, have to keep pushing the gas peddal but also engine go off.

Does the vehicle start ok and then cut out or does it not start at all? Does engine turn over when trying to start or is it completely dead? Do the instrument lights come on when you turn on the ignition?

I have push the peddal gas to keep the engine on; when it reach the 3 RPH (on parking)the RPH going from 3 to 1 up and down. On the road the car reach up to 5 MPH but have to play with the peddal gas to increase the speed (car try to stop and go)the top speed is 20 MPH. The code scanner shows PO1545 code throttle body.

After you changed the alternator you should have reset the alarm/immobiliser.

I presume that you have rectified the alternator charging problem and have a good battery. If the alternator is not charging, the vehicle won't run correctly and eventually cut out as the electronics need a good voltage to operate correctly. I don't find the fault code you have mentioned but if it is to do with the throttle valve you can try doing basic settings. If you have access to a diagnostic reader select- Engine control unit [01] -Select basic settings [04] -Select Channel 098 [some vehicles 060]. Basic settings should run and then indicate ok. If Basic settings does not run throttle valve may be faulty. If you don't have access to a diagnostic tester, try disconnecting the battery for a couple of minutes, reconnecting again and turning on the ignition without starting the vehicle. You should be able to hear a light buzzing noise from the throttle valve as it sets itself to its basic setting.

How can you check to see if the pos. battery cable from alternator to battery is good on a 2003 audi a6 quatro

You will need a self powered continuity meter to test the cable.

1) Disconnect the cables from the battery
2) Disconnect the cable from the alternator if possible
3) Using the meter attach one lead to each side of the alternator cable
Most meters have an audiable sound if there is continuity. If the cable is good, the meter will beep and the display will show a low number.

If the cable is bad, the meter will show a high number, or the infinity symbol.

1995 audi A6 Quatro, oil sensor lights keeps coming on?? (recent oil change 2 weeks ago....6 quarts)

I would check to see if there is a level sensor in the bottom of engine oil pan. If there is not, there is also a oil switch that threads into the block that could be bad.

I recently changed the battery in my 2001 Audi A6 Quatro 2.7t and now my radio is locked. How do i unlock it?

Usually, you have a code in your owners manual which is a series of buttons you push to unlock it (it is an anti-theft protection). If you can't find it, a dealership probably won't charge you to reset it...then again, I am in Europe and things are a little different over here :). Cheers!

The battery on my 2003 Audi A6 keeps dying. I

Sound's like a bad alternator, you can check the alternator by measuring the voltage on the battery when the car is started, it should measure above 12.6 volt's but not higher than 14.5 volt's, check the drive belt tension, a lose or wore drive-belt could cause problem's with the alternator charging the batery, check the battery terminal's for corrosion, along with the connection's of the battery cable's.
Hope this help's, good luck.
