Hi Spacey, Sounds as if you have an old model of the HiLux. Is it Carburetor or injection? If its carb I think that's where your problem will be. If there is leakage between the throttle body of the carb and the main body above it, there will be a flat spot when pulling away from start and possibly at higher revs. The easiest way of dealing with the problem is to replace the carburetor. Keep in mind that the most critical setting in any carb is the float level, if its not set correctly it will either flood or starve. Sounds as if you may have those measurements wrong. The settings are specific to the type of carb, if you need further help, tell me the type of unit fitted to your vehicle. Regards Johngee10

I change the engine on the car and it's bacfireing and hard to start with backfireing at all the time but it's runing it run fine

This sounds like a crossed sparkplug wire, start by making sure the firing order is correct, if theres a sparkplug wire in the wrong spot this would cause hard starting and the backfiring, so check the firing order first, i would of given you a firing order diagram but you forgot to list the year, make , model and the engine size. good luck and have a good day.

My quad wont start an its has petrol an i have just changed the spark plug

get a diagram online for the proper sparkplug wire locations and make sure they got put pack in the right firing order. Sometimes it is easy to accidently get them mixed up. Also I was acutally given the wrong sparkplugs from the autoparts store the other day. I went to find out the proper gap setting online and found out the plugs I had were not for my vehicle. Checking the gap on plugs is important before you put them in because sometimes they get dropped and the gap is wrong when you get them out of the box.

How do i change spark plugs in 1992 buick le sabre

To change the plugs, do one at a time so not to mix up the sparkplug wires, remove plug wire from a plug, use sparkplug socket to remove the sparkplug make sure to gap new plugs, ask parts store for the gap setting they will give it to you when plugs are bought, the plug gapper is about $2.00. and that about it, the rear plugs are a little harder to get to but the same way to remove, some buicks came with metal heat sheild over the sparkplug boot in the rear cylinders make sure to reuse, you will know if you have them they will slide right off old boot.

1989 Dodge Omni Stalls out

A sparkplug wire may have been loosesed or disconnected or damaged.
If you can't find it then wait until late evening when it's dark.

Open hood and start the car. You will see the sparks from the damaged/loose sparkplug cable. Don't touch it while ignition is ON. It will shock you!

If you "disconnected" any sparkplug wires when you replaced the oil pump, then they were not put back in the proper firing order.

Hope this helps!

03 ford taurus wont fire ,spins over,no fire

What you do is take either and old sparkplug from the car or pull one from the car and connect one of the sparkplug wires to it. Then with an insulated set of pliers hold the sparkplug so the electrode is grounded. Then have someone crank the car over. This is best done at night so you can see if there is a spark. During the day however you should be able to here a spark. If not probably a bad coil.
