Is this a diesel or gas vehicle ? and what engine does it have ? They all have different type of systems . Diesels have a low pressure and high pressure pump and IPC and IPR valves . Where is the low side ac port to recharge on a 1999 ford exp.

To locate the low side line, follow the lines from the compressor. Typically, your low side line will be located on the left (as you face the front of the truck). It will have a small cap on it (similar to a valve stem cap on your tires). You may need to remove the air cleaner assembly for better access if the valve is in the back but in most cases, it's located nearer the front of the engine compartment, about 1' back from the radiator.

Location of air conditioner low pressure valve on 2001 Ford Expedition/Eddie Bauer.

The low pressure valve on the 01 expedition is located on the accumulator on the passenger side fire wall. The accumulator is underneath the battery relay and a grouping of wires. Had to squeeze hand underneath a heater hose and an a/c line to remove cap and hook up hose. Nothing has to be removed to locate the valve just a little touchy feely. Valve faces a 45 forward toward the engine.

There should be ports on the right side of the vehicle hnder the hood. They will have palstic caps. The smaller one is for charging the a/c system. Good Luck

I cannot differentiate between the low pressure and high pressure

This is a little A/C 101. Follow the A/C lines. All A/C systems have a high pressure side and a low pressure side. The high pressure side is from the compressor to the condenser coil on the front of the vehicle to the evaporator coil in the dash. At the expansion valve in the evaporator the pressure drops. At the expansion valve the refrigerant changes from a liquid to a gas. This provides the cooling. The low pressure side is from the evaporator back to the compressor. Usually the high pressure lines are smaller than the low pressure (suction) lines.
