Hi my peugeot 308 is using more oil than usual and the oil pressure warning sign keeps coming on but no obvious signs of an oil leak

After cooling, check the radiator water for signs of engine oil. Oil can be forced into the water cooling system through faulty seals or gaskets.

I'm having rough idle and smoke all of a sudden with my golf mk4 The oil warning lights up in dash. Oil level ok. Spark plugs not burning well. Replace spark plugs, changed oil filter, changed

Smoke is not a good sign. Running rough is not a good sign. Oil light not a good sign. You could have a combination of bad things, most likely expensive. Suggest professional help. Smoke can be bad rings or holed piston. Low oil pressure can be bad bearing or oil pump.

Oil warning light goes on when low rpm

low viscosity oil; add an oil additive (honey, as we call it) if the oil is relatively new or change the oil to something thicker. sometimes this happens because of the oil pressure sensor, and we replace it if it shows signs of leakage, but generally this is because of engine wear.

Warning signs for oil pump going out

Oil pressure light coming, lifter clicking noise, knock in the lower end. May not be the oil pump. It may be your crank bearings.

How would i no if i need a oil pump?

If you need an oil pump you will be experiencing problems that are associated with low oil pressure. The most obvious sign would be an oil pressure warning light coming on. Other symptoms would be an oil pressure gauge that is reading very low (if your vehicle is equipped qith a gauge). Valves and valve lifters continuously ticking or loud knocking noises in the engine are some of the more severe symptoms.

Low oil pressure warning comes on when RPMs go below 1000

check if the oil is clogged , if the duration or mileage hs exceeded the limit for oil change , if not check the oil pressure switch for fault.
However if the switch is OK then the oil pump pressure is down and is not a healthy sign. you might need serious attention to the engine, might even need an overhauling

I have 1998 740i BMW that is overheating. 1) What are the warning signs of a bad water pump? 2) What are the warning signs of a blown head gasket? 3) What are the warning signs of bad timing?

Timing - engine is not sounding right or back firing.
Head gasket - water and oil mixing, see inside water bottle. or open bottle. rev engine when cold, if starts spitting water out while cold like a fountain.
Water pump - Water leaking from side of engine. or when car started and water bottle is open and no circulation is visible could be signs of water pump
Remember - Block radiator lines can also cause over heating problems and lack of water circulation.

THE ABS WARNING DASH LIGHT IS ON PLUS THE TC LIGHT AND THE LIGHT SHOWING MY FREELANDER UPLIFTED FROM THE BACK AND A CAUTION SIGN. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN? PLUS OCCASIONALLY WHEN I START THE CAR THE RED CAN...

replace brake peddleswitch first, if that dont cure, replace the throttle peddle switch, and if that dont worrk replace the reverse switch on gear box and the forward detector switch for the hill desent. as for the oil warning light it can only be one of three things , ie low oil, bad wiring or switch and last the worst of all oil pump failure.
