A simple fix. Remove the valve cover from atop the engine. Be careful not to drop any crud into the engine! Place a towel or some rags to preevnt this. Scrape the mating surfaces carefully to avoid gouging the metal. Use a wooden tool id possible to remove any stuck on sealant. Apply gasket sealer as instructed, carefully mate the gasket to the cover and re-attach.

The timing marks for a 1999 daewoo leganza

Both cams have a notch in their edges, those go straight up parallel with each other pointing at the marks on the valve cover. Crankshaft pulley also has a mark that lines up with a mark on the timing belt rear cover.

I just bought a 2000 model Daewoo Leganza (2.2l dohc engine) I was servicing the engine and decided to check the spark plugs, only to find I could not see them as they were immersed in engine oil. Car...

When the gasket goes bad, the engine will leak oil like crazy, which is what mine is doing at the moment.

As far as I know, it's really easy to replace the head gasket, which is something I'm in dire need of myself. You just unscrew the bolts, take the top part off, replace the gasket, and screw it back together.

I have a service manual, if you'd like to e-mail me..I can forward it to you.
