Do you only have 1 battery? This is showing me you have a 1994 half ton.
In 1994 you should have a 3/4 or 1 ton if it is a diesel.
And Chevy put 2 batteries.
Check your cables you need a full 12 volts to the starter. Did you try jumping a cross the starter solenoid? MAKE SURE IT IS IN NEUTRAL PARKING BRAKE IS SET & WHEELS ARE CHOCKED / BLOCKED. Will the truck pull or push start? Or do the wheels just lock up when you try?

Transmission wont shift low 2 second , alredy change trans

I came across this problem before in my case it turned out to be the TPS sensor. I also had a problem like this and it was the Park Natural switch. The ECM could only see park so it would not let the trans shift. These things are easy to check with a scan tool. Good Luck :-)

Sounds like a pump problem.Did you install the new torque converter after you started having problems or before?Did you bolt the converter to the engine and then install transmission or did you install transmission with converter in it?

Tried to start my 2003 escalade this morning and it would only click. I replaced my battery and still nothing. after a couple of min. i tried agin and it started, this eve it is doing the same thing. just...

Yes - your problem is in your starter - specifically the armature and / or brushes. The starter is located on the passenger side of the vehicle, mounted to the front of the transmission and back of the motor. The starter's armature kicks out and connects with the Ring gear ( automatic trans) or flywheel ( manual trans) and turns the flywheel ? gear to engage the engine. The clicking indicates the solenoid is completing the circuit but the armature is not engaging the gear. The positive battery cable goes directly to the solenoid which is mounted to the starter and the positive cable MUST be removed prior to removing the starter. The armature and related brushes can be replaced instead of buying a new or rebuilt starter / solenoid assembly but should be done by a qualified professional as it can be done wrong and cause serious damage to the ring gear or flywheel.
Hope this helps and please rate my solution!!

I try to start my 1988 Jeep YJ (maunal trans) and I just hear a "click, click" sound. Jump started it and it was running, but I stalled it and the same thing, she wouldn't turn over...just heard the click...

First thing to check is the battery on jeep. If the battery is low on power or dead, charge the battery or replace it with a new battery. It sounds like you are not getting enough voltage to the starter to turn it over and start the jeep. Once you get the jeep started use a volt meter to check the voltage at the battery. The alternator should be putting out 14 to 15 volts to the battery. Check the battery cables at the battery, clean and tighten if need be. If the alternator is not putting out the voltage as i described then replace it. Make sure the radio and a/c is turned off in jeep before you run your test. Hope this will help.

2002 dodge ram 2500 diesel truck shifts in and out of gear around 40 to 50 miles per hour

When your truck is shifting like you mentioned you need to check the battery cables. Better yet just replace the cables. Even a small amount of corrosion can cause a break down in the flow of current to the trans computer and cause erratic shifting. New cables should fix you right up. If this does not take care you need to start looking into "noise" from the alternator wire or other electrical interferrence. Another possible solution is to install a Hapi Box which clears interferrence in the wire from the TPS to the trans computer. It worked on my '02 until the cables corroded. I stripped back about 6" and found a mess in there. Good luck. (oh, Dodge will seel you a new trans to fix this problem. Be ware.)

I started my truck to move it out of the way and when i tried to turn off the engine it didn't turn off. how do i turn off a diesel without the key doing it for me?

Hi there,

Be careful doing this. You're going to try and stall the engine.

Manual Trans:
  • Put it in the highest gear
  • Hold the brake down
  • Pop the clutch
Auto Trans:
  • Press the brake
  • Put it in gear
  • Hold the brake and hit the gas
Hope this helps,
