Typically this light will come on when your altenator is no longer properly charging. It will reset once the problem is corrected. You may need to go and have the charging system tested. A few auto parts such as Autozone or Advanced Auto will tests this system as well as your local repair facilty.

U can't reset the light, there is no way to do that except by fixing the problem that turned it on, which is the alternator has a faulty diode.

My brake light, abs light, gauges fail, a/c compressor goes off and occasionally comes back on with no apparent reason. I need to know what to do to fix this.

if you have removed the battery or battery fuse recently then use a scan tool to reset the ECM
I would suggest that you run the fault codes anyway as it could be a ECM problem

Fault light comes on when powered is there a reset or fuse?

the check engine light comes on when the switch is on only as a bulb check , then when the vehicle cranks it should go out if there are no problems. you can reset the computer memory of faults by disconnecting the battery for 1 minute.

VSC off

Apparently you have not checked for codes
or googled VSC to know what it is

Get your codes, google them, then start all over
& have a shop work on that system & find the fault,
the reason the light came on & make the repairs

Battery warning light is coming on for no apparent reason. I just replaced the oil pressure sending unit and then reconnected the neg cable and now warning light stays on.

Try removing either battery cable for about 15 mins. that should reset the computer in car and make battery light go off, if that dont work check battery cables to make sure they are tight. Billy Wyatt

I tried to reset the engine light by disconnecting the battery cable. When I put it back on the car wont start and gage needles are jumping

As I know disconnecting battery cable cannot reset engine light.
Engine light on caused by a fault code remained in the OBD system. You have to clear the fault code to reset engine light.
But before that, I suppose to have your car checked first to make sure there's nothing wrong.

Good luck.

How do you reset the check engine light on a 2007 mitsibishi galant?

You hook up a code scanner and press the reset code function or you can disconnect and reconnect your battery. If there is something which is at fault after codes are cleared engine light will come back on and you should get codes checked. Most parts stores will check for you for free but their level of mechanical expertise can very drastically so check back here with trouble codes which you can't determine for further help

How do I turn off the "check Engine" light?

The "check engine light" turn on when any fault code is present in the system; for reset, unplug the battery few minutes, if the check light turn on again, its possible that you have any fault there and need scanning for know exaclty what fault code is.

The car wont start. it blinks a lot of lights makes clicking

I had these problems on my 2005 911 when the battery died. Apparently when it goes IT GOES. I had no problem with the battery until this time and then suddenly it was dead.

I've heard since that this is common on Porsche 996 when the battery is dead and then is should also be the case with the 986 Boxter.

I removed the old battery and left the car without a battery for at least 30 minutes (while doing some other maintainance). Put a new battery in and no problems after that. On most cars if you disconnect the battery for like 15 minutes the maintainance computer resets its self and all warninglights should dissapear unless there is a real fault, then the appropriate light should come back on!

Good luck.
Slick.

Engine light 2006 pontiac g6(reset)

first be sure that its the engine light and not the "service" light. the service light will usually illuminate if its time for an oil change. if its the service light ur owners manual should tell u how to reset it. if its ur engine light then try disconnecting ur positive battery cable for 1 minute. that should reset ur ecm and get rid of the engine light. if the engine light comes back on then have a diagnostic scan done to determine whats causing it. Check engine light

The check engine is a fault indicator, it will stay on until the fault is fixed and a certain number of miles driven to check that the fix was successful, it can' t be reset, you can erase the code with either a OBD 2 scan tool, or in some cases by disconnecting the battery for 1 hour, but if the fault is not fixed the light will come back on in short order. Very seldom do you fell anything different unless the fault is transmission related.
