BA Falcon 'door open' light is on, can't lock

Hi,

The 'door open' light is on in my BA Falcon however all of the doors are closed properly.

The central locking wont work because it thinks one of the doors is open.

Can I do anything myself to try and fix this?

Cheers.

Hi I have the same problem on my BA XT Falcon
Strangely it only happens after it's rained on my car (usually overnight) I then notice that the drivers lock is up and will not lock again until a nice sunny day comes and I leave all doors wide open for hours and hours!! Then all of a sudden once closing all doors normally the little dash door light turns off, and I can again lock the doors
?
Since it rained all last night here, guess what? It happened again!
So I've checked everywhere and cleaned and you name it, but nothing, I'm positive that when a warm sunny day comes again though, all will be ok.
Most annoying issue ever.
Where is this tiny bit of water that's causing this?
And which door?? Can I just disconnect one door at a time? I don't know it's driving me crazy!!!!

Check that your boot is not open. Sometimes as I'm removing my keys from my pocket the boot release is activated on my remote and when all doors are closed the in-dash door warning light is on.

Mine was the same. Turned out to be the BCM (Body Control Module) located below the stereo on a BA. Has to be replaced and car key code reprogrammed. Cost $250 for the module and $50 for a sparky to install. DO NOT go to Ford as it will cost $1000+

It could be a bad door switch, which are located on your door jambs. Check to see which one is not working properly.

Thanks Boneebone - Do you mean the locking mechanisim? We've tested that out with a scewdriver with the door open to ensure they do lock easily. They all seem to just fine.

Is the door switch something different?

    Cheers.

Locked keys in car get door open

door switch fail just need to change it or free it up. you will find a switch on the door behind a rubber gromet the door open the light comes on door close the light goes out and the switch tell system doors closed. more common to be the drivers door as this is the most used door. failing that there is a second switch in the door lock mechanism to get to this one you need to take the door card off, these can sometimes get damaged if some try to jimmy the door.

Can i fix r/h/r door actuator on ba falcon as only 3 lock

You can fix anything if you apply a bit science like open the door take the panel off and see if you have power to the solonoid as most times its the cable in the rubber trunking from dsoor to the pillar as the wires break inside here

I need a 1998 mazda 323 ba immobiliser bypass key or another solution to start my car. Can anyone help me?

I know this question is old but I recently encountered a similar problem with my 1995 323 BA and this may help someone else. Override the immobilizer by doing the following:

open the car via the drivers door
put the key in the ignition
turn the key to ACC
now turn the key to ON
repeat the last 2 steps X 12 quickly (ignore the indicators flashing and the central locking activating).
the dashboard should be lighting up as normal.
Now turn the key to START
