Could be two things, your oil pump pick tube is clog, oil pan would have to be drop to check, or your camshaft bearing worn causing low oil pressure,I would not say piston rod bearing or main bearing, cause there's no knock noise. You will have better oil pressure when cold due to oil much thicker. so I would forget about a bad oil pump.

Oil pressure gage fluctuates;red oil icon stays on; alarm bell keeps ringing. I added 2 qts of oil. no change.

Hello,I can help you with your buick oil pressure problem. This is the 3800 engine correct? Is engine noisey? Would be best to install a mechnical oil pressure gauge on your engine to see if you are actually losing oil pressure or we have another problem. this tells you exactly what the engine is doing. If you do not have one the cheapest thing to try is replacing the oil pressure sending unit.if sender is defective it will cause your problem. This sending unit is above the oil filter.

You either have a bad sender, poor connection, or a bad guage. Replace the sender first.

Where is the oil sending sensor on a 95 buick lasabre oil pressure gauge keeps showing low pressure

typically on the back side of the engine in an impossible to reach spot. you will likely have to take this car in to get serviced.

What year engines inter change with a 1997 buick lasabur

The engines that will interchange with yours are 1995-2005. It should be a 3.8 L Series II Buick 3800 V6 on all of these vehicles. Let me know if you have any further questions. Thanks for using FixYa!
