WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THE FAN BELT BREAKS ON A 2005 ALTIMA. DOES IT DAMAGE ANYTHING?

As long as you don't run it without the fan belt, nothing should be damaged by a broken fan belt, but. . .

If something broke or seized and caused the belt to break, then that is a very different story. Check things like water pump, AC, alternator, etc.

2001 holden rodeo air conditioning broken, broken fan belt, suitable fanbelt to bypass aircon

Use the same belt as the ac compressor will not work unless you turn it on. Disconnect the wire to the ac pulley clutch and the pulley just becomes an idler and you can get the standard belt anywhere.

Lorry over heating

Sounds to me like you have a broken fan belt. The fan belt powers the alternator and the cooling fan. If it's broken you overheat and have no charging just as you are describing.

How do i get the fan belt replaced when i have a broken one?

You should not have to remove anything, go to local autozone have them look up your car they will give you the right size belt, look under hood there is a diagram of how the belt goes on. Belt may be tension self adjusted.

2000 suzuki grand vitara: broken heater fan belt? I noticed a light 'thwapping' noise coming from my center dashboard heater vents and then a burnt rubber smell. I am thinking there is a heater fan belt...

There is no fan belt Cassandra. It is possible that the blower motor is shot. Take it in to a well known shop and have them look at it. DO not run the AC unit it's been repaired if the fan motor is binding for some reason it will make the wiring going to the unit hot and could result in a compartment fire.
