The battery is on the right side of the trunk compartment next to the spare tire. There is a corporate bulletin about the battery terminals being stripped from the factory and it states to clean the treads and replace the terminal bolts. The terminal bolts are 8mm or 5/16inch in size.

Reset the radio first all lockouts go threw radio system you must have installed a new radio

Now with transponder key both tumbler key cylinder and key must match no prob there they already do

My car battery is totally and completely dead on my G5 2008 Pontiac as the lights were left on overnight. There were zero indications or problems before. I tried to charge using cables and it was totally...

Have your battery tested / charged.
Totally dead battery may take some extra time to charge being hooked to cables.
When a battery is "hard discharged" as you described...sometimes they never recover and require replacement.

Negative Post for Battery

For jumping connection it is under the hood, directly between the red capped post and the driver side. It says GRD on the post. Good luck.

My son cannot turn the key off in his G5...still running....what can he do besides disconnect battery?

That is the only option now The ignition cylinder has bent tumblers inside of it. Since it does need to be replaced try a pair of vise grips to turn it off. The new cylinder will have to come with new keys so the old one will be no good no longer

I'm trying to jump a battery using a pontiac g5. where should i put the negative clamp of the jumper cable? the battery only has a positive post.

Place the negative cable on the frame of the car to ground it. It's best to do this even when there is a negative post present to protect the car and the alternator.
