05 nissan sentra only misfires on a cold start, has new spark plugs which have been gapped properly. car has a random multiple misfire code in the computer but only misfires for less than a minute then clears up.

Hi,
Is the engine throwing any trouble codes? If so you wanna get the code first. How many miles are on the vehicle and when was the last tune up? With information given it could be a lot of things, spark plugs, injectors, etc. Once I have more information I will try and assist you further.
Thank you,
Lee

Check the sparkplugs (their colour should be a light gray or brown) and the high tension leads. If necessary replace both.

The problem dissapears after a minute because this is the average time a sparkplug needs to reach normal operating temperature. Make sure that the spark plugs are the recommended model for your engine like this one

No there shouldn't be any problem with having the fan disconected while starting. The heat switch usualy cold when first starting is in the off possition anyways.

2001 nissan sentra with QG18 engine. at cold start, it misses for about 10 seconds and then resolves.the MAF is new and plugs cleaned and injectors cleaned via fuel additive. cant imagine what it is

I would have the coolant checked for hydrocarbons. If there are hydrocarbons present you have a bad head gasket. The misfire at startup could be from coolant being in the cylinders. This would also explain the loss of coolant with no visible leaks and the inability for the cooling system to **** in coolant out of the recovery tank.
