This is not a task to try to do in your driveway! Get a price from a shop. Cost about 200 to 400. Maybe a bit more! Frankster016

SOURCE: ford focus st170 clutch master cylinder

To replace the clutch master, you must remove the under hood fuse box and air filter housing assm, then remove the hydraulic line that goes into the inlet port of the clutch master, then inside the car, remove the hush panel/knee bolster panel from under the steering column, and loosen the boilts that retain the brake pedal to the firewall, then remove the two 10mm bolts that secure the clutch master to the brake pedal assm. Reverse procedure ti install, then fill the brake master cylinder with clean fluid, loosen the bleeder screw at the top of the trans, and bleed the clutch as you would the regular brake system, but never pump the pedal, tighten screw, with foot off of clutch pedal open screw and press pedal to floor, then tighten screw before you release pedal, then release pedal loosen screw, etc. until no more air comes out, it may take quite a few times to fully bleed the system.

Why does the push rod on the clutch master cylinder keep breaking when trying to bleed the system on our 2001 Dodge Neon.

I think there may be two different types of master cylinders -- one uses a longer push rod than the other. If possible, check that the old part is exactly like the new one. If the old part is not available, try getting a knowledgeable parts person to check several year models up and down from yours to see if a different part number exists.

2005 dodge neon srt4, chugs but wont start

I would do a compression test. Chances are the head gasket blew and thats how the coolant entered the cylinders, and how the hose blew. You may need a head gasket replacement.

2001 dodge neon clutch will not build up pressure

fill the clutch master cylinder up and open the slave cylinder zert until fluid is running out of the zert.
then close the zert and have a friend pump the clutch a few times and hold it down to the floor while you reopen the zert a bit and let some fluid run out.
Repeat this two or three times to purge the air out of the system.
Thats it...

When i depress the clutch to start my 2004 neon srt4 it wont turn over or do anything. the batteray is good and tested starter it was good to. i have to push start to drive my car. all the power turns on

There is a switch on the clutch pedal. You have to climb down in the floor board to see it. It is a small switch that when you press the clutch it opens a switch and allows you to start the car.

Hope this helps! If so please click YES!!!! Thanks!

I push my clutch in on my 03 neon sxt and it will not go into gear while its runing but will go into gear while its not runing

It sounds like your clutch slave cylinder is not working. Check clutch fluid level and try bleeding it. If that doesn't work you will need to replace either the master or slave cylinder.
