This is best done by having a repair shop recharge the system, there is not a cap and dipstick for air conditioning.

SOURCE: Where is the air conditioner refrigerant refill

Look near the radiator and find the 2 aluminum lines running from the condenser. If you trace those lines you will find a fitting on each of them. There should be a cap on them one says H or high and the other L or low. One is the high pressure line and the other is the low pressure line. Please be careful fooling with the AC system can be very dangerous to you and your car. The last thing you want is a face full of prion. Or to blow up your AC system because you over charged it. Good luck.

Need to know what side is low side for the air conditioning so we can charge it on a 2002 Suzuki XL7

The refill gauge fitting will only fit the low side. If you have valves on both the high and low side pipes, they should be different sizes and the one you can connect to will be the proper one for recharging the system.

Air conditioning refill valve

You need to refill from the low side service valve. Its usually on the left hand side and has a blue cap. This is a complecated proccess that takes special tools, if the system is completely empty. If its completely empty you need to vacuum down with a vaccum pump. You can rent from autozone.

2002 Suzuki xl7 Mysterious Overheating Issue

Most Suzukis A/C systems will cut out when the engine tempurature is too high (to reduce the load on the engine). Also, in this condition, when the A/C compressor cuts out, the A/C thermo fan (electric - in front of the condensor) may come on ( to try and cool the engine). Combined with the fact that your temp gage says the engine is hot, I would be checking your cooling system very closely. It could be as simple as leaves blocking the air flow through the radiator (between the condensor and radiator), or as serious as the internal cores of the radiator being blocked (different sorts of coolant being used can sometimes produce solid matter that can do this).

Air conditioner on 2002 Pontiac blowing hot air, although freon is not low...also makes a clicking noise.

Take it to a garage and have them evacuate the system and refill with refrigerant. you have air and non condensibles in the refrigerant system.
