if you have the code (you say you do) turn radio on, push the code, radio should come on automatically (here is my code it will work on yours 2145) so 1 turn radio on. err code will show dont worry about it. 2. punch in 4 digit code.3. complete code will flash 3 times. 4. radio will be fully functional, use as normal. if you enter code wrong an Err will display for a few sec. COde will then display. repeat procedure 1-3.
hi,there is a fuse on the radio it self on the back it sould be removed.the radio will show a safe display on screen, the radio code is normally in service book but if it is not u can get it at a vw dealer by giving them the cars vin num and radio serial num the serial num wil be on top of the radio wen it is removed.hope this helps
For Audi A6 the fuse box is located on the left side of dashboard behind a plastic cover (for left hand steering wheel vehicle). On inner face of the plastic cover you will find the fuse diagram. The fuse for the radio is no.# 37 fuse: F37 (20A - yellow colour). See picture below:
There is a second fuse on the back of the radio, (10A - red colour), but you have to pull the unit to check & change it. This is only course of action. You need special Audi radio extracting tools, (two radio keys).
IMPORTANT NOTE: You must have the security anti-theft code for yours Audi Concert radio from the car manufacturer! For Audi Concert the sequence of programming is: 1. Push simultaneous "SCAN" and "RDS" keys until on the screen will appear "1000" displayed. 2. Release keys. No more push on "SCAN" and "RDS" keys because otherwise number "1000" will be considered as first safe code attempt. 3. By the #1 key you will set up the first safe code digit. 4. By the #2 key you will set up the second safe code digit. 5. By the #3 key you will set up the third safe code digit. 6. By the #4 key you will set up the four-th safe code digit. 7. Then push again simultaneous "SCAN" and "RDS" keys for confirm this safe code. On the screen will be displayed "SAFE" notice. Release keys! For few seconds a radio frequence will be displayed. The radio is now ready for use!
with the key on engine off the radio should display the word code if this is not been displayed at all check your fuses if they are good try removing your radio and unplugged connectors. once plugged back in if you don't see the word code displayed then your radio is shorted out
THERE ARE ARE NORMALLY TWO PROBLEMS THAT OCCUR WHEN THE BATTERY GOES FAULTY ON THESE AUDI CARS.THE FIRST BEING THAT THE DISPLAY OF THE RADIO WILL JUST TURN RED BUT WITH COMING ON.THE FUSE AT THE BACK OF THE RADIO WILL BE THE ONE DEMAGED BUT YOU WILL NEED THE RADIO CARS TO TAKE OUT THE RADIO FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF THIS FUSE. THE SECOND ONE IS WHEN THE RADIO WILL REQUIRE THE ANTI-THEFT CODE THAT NORMALLY COMES WITH THE BOOKLET,BUT FOR ANY REASON YOU CAN NOT GET THIS CODE JUST GO TO YOUR NEAREST DEALER THEY WILL GIVE YOU THE CODE WITHIN MINUTES.
bad ground or bad power source behind radio and radios sometimes has fuse to the back of radio
something might have surged the cars electrics
some vehicles come with 3 fuses for radios sometimes more
these fuses are listed as
fuse box
power wire fuse box this will be located on the power wire to radio
and then you have the radio fuse
some radios have what they call an antitheft shutdown if the code was not properly put in after so many times the radio completly shuts off or for a length of time it will also shut down the radio
recommendation take vehicle to dealer so they can show and reapply code for you to you then you would never forget how to do it
