This is the Clutch Release Bearing and Requires a COMPLETE CLUTCH Replacement , as All the Work involved Would Make Is UNWISE NOT to Replace the Clutch at the same time.

I believe it's attached directly to the clutch pedal. You're gonna do some bending, but its there. Good luck.

I have a 98 vw jetta gls... the transmission drops into neutral and slams into first gear after coming to a complete stop.... can you help me????

you may have a fluid leak that has left the pan next to empty. check the fluid level, and add if needed. VW need specific tranny fluid. Mobil 1 Dex III will work though.

My2001 vw jetta manual transmission wont come out of 3rd gear and i dont know why

Does the shifter feel loose? Does it drive in neutral or does it lock in two gears if you select a different gear? I'm trying to determine if it is a transmission problem or a shifter problem. It is likely a shifter problem.

Inside the transmission case above the pan. You should probably let a transmission mechanic handle this one.

Why does my paid off 2000 VW Jetta GLS make a high pitch buzzy grinding sound. Is it the alternator ,transmission,or timing Belts. What do I do and how mauch can it run me. Am I still covered with the

The trick is to take off the belt and spin the different things and see if any of them make the noise you hear.
Water pump, alternator, power steering, air pump, belt tensioner pulley. You could also briefly (30 seconds) run the engine without the belt and see if it still makes the noise.

For prices, you can check autozone.com or partsamerica.com

oh oh, better get the car to a transmission repair shop,
it's going to let you stranded somewhere.
the trasmission is dying.
maybe a transmisson service will do but i doubt it.
