It is located at the exhaust pipe before the catalyt converter. No special tool required, normal spanner will do, make sure the exhaust pipe is not hot...disconnect the electrical cable connected to the sensor first. Spray WD 40 or lubrication to the thread before unscrew the sensor.

O2 sencor 1991 honda accord, where is it located?

On 1991 Honda Accord 2.2L FI 4cyl the Oxygen Sensor is located under hood, center, front engine area, mounted in exhaust manifold (Except EX model).

A special socket is used to remove the oxygen sensor. Note the slot cut into the side of the socket.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I'll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using Fixya, and have a nice day.

Replace catalytic converter

The oxygen sensors are easy to replace which takes a 22mm wrench or a special removal tool. The converters are the problem. These to my knowledge have to be welded on. A local shop usually sells aftermarket which are just as good because these have to meet the same standards. For your accord you should need one converter. If the Accord is a 4 cylin it will take 2 oxygen sensors and 6 cylinder takes 3. Usually there are one sensor at the manifold and one at the converter. I would buy aftermarket sensors. I work at Bosch and operate the line that makes these. These look different than your OEM but are actually the same or better. Aftermarket is about $40, OEM is about $70-110. You can buy the converters online cheap, but buying from a shop you can at least show up there if you have problems. You can replace the sensors after the converters are replaced which takes about 10 min to replace. Good Luck

What is the oxygen sensor and where it is located in 2005 Honda accord ex

An oxygen or O2 sensor is located either in the exhaust just past the point where it attaches to the head or 2 on the underside of the car at the exhauust just prior to the catalytic converter. but usually there are two or three depending on the congiguration of the exhaust. always one at the cat. Is there a specific reason you need to change it??

Locating and replacing oxygen sensor

Is the check engine light on with oxygen sensor codes?
If there are no problems with it leave it alone. i have seen factory sensors working good with over 300k miles on them. I recommend using dealer tune parts. at least NGK plugs. I have found misfire problems with aftermarket tune parts on several occasions.

there could be 2 oxygen sensors and they will be in the exhaust manifold or the catalytic converter or the "A" pipe between the manifold and catalytic converter. if you have the correct tools you can do it. sometimes requires special tools and rarely they are seized in the exhaust manifold and damage the manifold than it has to be replaced.

Flashing green s on the dash

A green flashing "S" is similar to a check engine light. It is telling you that something in or on your transmission is not functioning correctly, such as the speed sensor or shift control solenoids. If it starts flashing and the speedometer stops working or the transmission shifts weird, take it to a mechanic.
