I think the best method is to buy the entire master/slave unit which comes prebled. I have seen them for sale on ebay, but you can also get them at autozone and advance. Basically the same unit fits all SL-series.

Where is the 1999 Saturn SL2 slave cylinder located?

on a manual transmission the Clutch Slave Cylinder is located on the drivers side front of the transmission. You can locate it by first finding the clutch master cylinder on the drivers side of the firewall. Then fallow the plastic line to the front of the transmission.

To remove the slave you will first twist it then pull it out of the transmission.

The clutch slave and mater cylinder are replaced as an assembly.

Where's the head gasket located on a 1999 saturn sl 1

The head gasket is in between the cylinder head and the engine block. The sly has a single overhead cam engine. This head is know for being porus and allowing oil into the coolant. If this is the problem your having than the only fix is to relace the head. Replacing just the head gasket will not help unless there are other circumstances that ruined the head gasket.

I just got a 99 Saturn SL1 but can't figure out just what engine I have (SOHC or DOHC). Normally on other vehicles I clearly see these letters on the valve cover. Where and what do I look for to...

If your car is a 4 cylinder engine with 4 spark plug holes and plus shows 16 V on top of your engine is 16 Valves that your car would be a DOHC = Dual OverHead Cam. You can also go to your local library to check out this year of car in the chiltons books for free when you have the time. When you tell us here that your car is a 99 Saturn SL1 does not say to much information but the Liter of engine does like 1.9L and so on.

1999 Saturn -We replaced the bushing but the car still will not start. The clutch pedal is down to the floor but nothing ! (It reminds me of when I didn't have the clutch pushed down all the way and tried...

Do not know what bushing you are talking about. If your clutch pedal is on the floor you have a failure in the clutch system, leaking master or slave cylinder or broken line; or a failure within the clutch.

Is my fuel filter needs to be single or dual?

The same basic engine, a 1.9L 4 cylinder, is in all Saturns 91 through 99. The main difference is whether or not it is a double overhead cam or single overhead cam. There is a fuel filter in the gas tank to keep debris out of the fuel pump, and another one in the fuel line just after it comes into the engine bay. It is a single in line filter and you can buy them at most auto parts stores. It may help the salesperson if you know if you have the SOHC SL1 or the DOHC SL2.
