The brake fluid reservoir is on the master cylinder. If you open the hood it's on the firewall right in front of the driver. You shouldn't have to add brake fluid. If it's low, check and make sure the brake linings are thick enough and that there are no leaks at the wheel cylinders or any of the lines and hoses.

I had a strut mount put in a 91 toyota corolla today, now the brakes are not working, i have pumped them, give it time, nothing is working, believe they forgot to bleed them or can i just add fluid and...

Check and see if any brake fluid is leaking on the ground when you push the brakes(usually most obvious on the inside of the tires where the fluid drains down). If you see fluid then there is an open in the hydraulic system which means the problem needs to be fixed and brakes bleed again. you cant just add fluid because you need to get the air out of the lines so my suggestion is to call the shop and tell them to fix it.

Abs light came on vehicle was pulling to the left, just replaced the cv axles both fronts, brake system is completely locked up cant move vehicle.

when locked try to relieve the brake line pressure by opening the bleeder on the wheel that is locked. if that unlocks the wheel then replace the hose for that wheel. if all wheels are locked then relieve the pressure at the master cylinder if that unlocked the wheels then you will need the flush out all the brake fluid with new clean Dot 4 fluid. and replace all the rubber in the brake system. the fluid was contaminated and caused the rubber parts the the brake system to swell. this would include the master cylinder, rubber hoses, wheel cylinder kits, calipers kits, ABS pump module.any part that has brake fluid in it. if you know that the wrong fluid has be put into the brake fluid .you may want to check with your car insurance company it may be covered .

Let set for a couple weeks had no brakes checked brake fluid was empty. put in brake fluid will work if you pump they will stop when you take off to go and then stpo again no brakes cant see a leak

There has to be a leak if the fluid was empty it may be inside the wheels or a bad master cylinder, you will need to have the brakes bleed know but theres got to be a leak somewhere, pull the wheel and check for leaks, and then check the lines to all wheels from the master.

I cant get the brakes to pump up after bleeding them and replacing front lines

sounds like there is still air in system, put a hose from brake bleeder into jar of brake fluid to bleed and repeat for each set of brakes, checking brake fluid resevoir often. this will remove any air and keeps the line from sucking up air. there are one man break bleeding kits sold at auto parts stores but a clear air hose will work.

What is wrong with your vehicle when brake fluid gets into the engine?

Master cylinder is leaking inside. Goes into the vacuum cannister for the brakes, (Power Booster), and is drawn through the vacuum hose from power booster, to intake manifold.

Replace master brake cylinder.

Transmission fluid 1988 vw scirocco

Put it down the dipstick tube that you check the trans fluid with using a funnel. Don't put much in at a time before you check the level - remember to check the level with engine running, trans warmed up after driving 15 minutes and the car in park with parking brake on. Put the fluid in and see what it does for your shifting.
