Question about 2001 Mercedes-Benz S-Class
There are two types of key to operate the car.
1) One is normal key.
2) Other is key-less remote key.In that you have to just press the button on the remote key to start the car.
If you are using normal key and having problems in starting car then ,
Move the steering wheel bit towards left to right then right to left and then try to insert the key and start the car.If still the same problem Then its the problem of ignition switch and ignition lock.It needs to be checked and replaced. There are many users facing this same problem and replacing the ignition switch/lock solves the problem.
If you are using remote key the key less entry to start the car then the battery in the remote key needs to be checked. Also disconnect the battery, then reconnect, keep the key in the ignition for 20 minutes and then check.
Thanks. keep updated for any more query.you can rate this solution and show your appreciation.

Are your Interior Lights working?
If NO, It looks like your dealing with a dead battery in the vehicle. See the alarm has a battery in it and when it detects low power it sounds because it thinks someone unhooked the battery. A new battery and possibly an Alternator are what your looking at. Have the battery tested/replaced and have the charging system checked out afterwords. If you want to try jump starting the vehicle, you need to use the emergency key that slides out the remote to open the trunk to get to the battery.
If the remote an interior lights do not work, the battery is probably dead. If that's not the case, Benz has to see it as only they can fix the alarm right or at all. They don't provide parts to the alarm outside the dealership.
Let me know,if needed further assistance.
Hope i helped you.
