Question about 1993 Buick Park Avenue
Car seems to have an electrical problem. While cruise control is on and blinker engaged car would lose all power. (Radio resets, all guages reset, etc). I had to put car in nuetral and restart. Now when I get in and turn the ignition nothing happens. No clicking or anything. Battery is fine. Nothing electrical works, locks, radio, trunk release, fuel door release, all dead. Would a faulty ingnition stop all electrical componants from working?
Yes a faulty ignition switch would cause this to happen, but so would a faulty battery connection.
So just check the battery connections and ensure they are all tight and clean, if the problem still persist then check your ignition switch.
If the key seems really loose or the turning action of the ignition switch dosn't seem ok then your the cause will be the tumbler area of your ignition. The switch part of the ignition switch is actually separate, and can be removed from the rear of the ignition lock assembly. If the switch is worn then just replace this part and not the whole ignition lock assembly.
Hope this helps, let me know how you get on.
